I still think we have many "sleepers" amongst our numbers - but we're watching, always watching...
I try not to "talk" too much since I am quite bad at phrasing stuff so it doeesn't come off as "this is how I do it, so you should too"... I re-read some of my posts in threads on the "real shapes" for cargo canisters and ships/models of same and it sounded like I was trying to tell people how it should be done rather than saying "this is how I see it".

I also don't get to visit as often as I would like...
You really want to know what's gonna happen, Ambassador? Boom. Boom boom. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. BOOM!

I think you'll find that many of the original players of Oolite are Brits - Aegidian, the creator of Oolite is a Brit, and it was circulated several years ago by the UK version of MacWorld in one of its first major versions, v.1.06., which is how I first found it.

@ BlackKnight - love the signature!! Sounds like an encounter out of D&D!!
Very funny, Scotty, now beam down my clothes...

I've created one of those Google map things so we can have a tracker of where everyone lives! I've been very precise cos I have no fear.

Oolite Parties at my place!

the map is here:
Wait until you get swarmed by Tomb Raider fans. (I hear they are good at having parties, too) :D
You are really close to the planned Tomb Raider Way, I think.

You'll probably have to log in at or get an account with google to use it though.

Yeah, I'm surrounded by the roadworks for it. Grr.

Way to resurrect a topic, though!

I'd forgotten I set this up. Can't even remember how to use it any more. Google search is your friend, but as far as I remember you need to log into Google to use it and you just need to submit your details. Not sure about the fine print though. Give it a go and if you have no joy let me know and I'll look into it...

I live in the wilds of Kent, which is part of the unfashionable end of the eastern spiral arm of the UK...

Can't work out how to add to your map, but not sure I want to anyway. What with the fuss over http://pleaserobme.com privacy issues/identity theft etc it is something to worry about.

"Are we world wide?"

Mmm. Yup!

I'm in Perth WA, The most remote city on this world and about as far from the UK you can get without gills. So technically that's about as wide as this world gets for air breathers.

Err. Second thoughts.. To get the widest you would have to measure opposite points on the equator, This wee planet aint actually a sphere.

I just know it takes at least 24Hrs flight time on a Jumbo.
That's not counting the 8Hrs I have to add to my clock.
LOOK OUT!!!
OOPS..

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia here.. in the so-called 'Sunshine State' where it seems to rain half of every week...
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
