Thank you very much, Thargoid! So it turns out to be a good start into 2010 having a "nicer" Pods OXP ...Thargoid wrote:New version (1.11) of both OXPs now uploaded to box.net, to cure the script bug in the trumblepod (would be!) that was causing the rogue addition of cargo when it shouldn't.
Oh and as people seemed to prefer it to be a nicer OXP, I've toned down the role probabilities of some of the less nice ones...

most serious bug
WTF ?Where is my porn ?
I scooped "1 ton of Thargoid porn", but when I looked in my cargo bay - nothing there. No alien items, where else would they go ?
Seriously, I love to scoop all that funny stuff.

In that case you could also look at "cargo wreck teaser.oxp". Contains also several funny contents. And I have been busy adding specular maps (for reflections) to all the pods. Just updated the oxp with the specular maps yesterday as version 1.6snork wrote:Seriously, I love to scoop all that funny stuff.
UPS-Courier & DeepSpacePirates & others at the box and some older versions
hehe, I have both of them (pods and the teaser) since the beginning. I think it is the latter that every now an then makes my scoop explode. Love that.
I looked into some plist or sth, to see which one of the two was responsiple for the Thargoid porn.

Oo! I am still with 1.5.4, will try the new one out, as soon as the sun has sunk. It is way to bright to play anything here.v.1.6

That might be a problem as the added new things are reflections. And those reflections need the direct sunlight shining on the pods.snork wrote:, will try the new one out, as soon as the sun has sunk.

Correct on both counts.Commander McLane wrote:I guess "Thargoid Porn" is among the many euphemisms for "nothing" or "empty pod" which make so much of the fun of Pods.oxp.
It's one of the empty pods from Pods.oxp.
At least I resisted the temptation to put the word "Used" in front of that one

hehe, I picked up those, too. ("used handkerchiefs")
But still, I couldn't resist complaining in public about my porn gone missing. ^^
I guess the same "nothing" applies to excess missiles or fuel ?
And I agree. Even when I scoop pure nothingness, I still scoop some fun.
(I miss a thumbup smiley here, not for the first time.)

Oh. Well, seeing I have no shaders available / my Oolite after a while running at 18 fps only - which is still fine to play, surprisingly - I'd better refrain from adding more in the graphics department.Eric Walch wrote:That might be a problem as the added new things are reflections. Well, both your missile and your fuel carrying capacities are limited. You do get awarded all scooped missiles until your pylons are full. After that it doesn't make much sense to scoop any more. Same for the fuel. Your tank is 7LY big. If you overfill it, it overflows.snork wrote:I guess the same "nothing" applies to excess missiles or fuel ?
Re: Pods OXP
I've just updated this OXP to version 1.30. Changes are:
With thanks to Eric Walch for a couple of suggestions and inspirations.[/color]
- The UPS add-on is now merged into the main OXP (no longer a separate add-on). If you have UPS installed then some of the pods will come from Pods.oxp, if not they will be ignored.
- Adjustment of some of the role chances.
- Addition of some variations on the standard 1t pods, to give a little variation on what is scooped.

And an update to 1.31 for this OXP, as one or two of the filenames had case issues (which I only noted when looking into an issue on my Lubuntu install).
Download from the links below as normal, and for a change this OXP is completely compatible with 1.76.x (and indeed back to 1.74 ).

Now that you are at it. I catched this case error on Linux with Oolite stable and Pod 1.31.Thargoid wrote:And an update to 1.31 for this OXP, as one or two of the filenames had case issues (which I only noted when looking into an issue on my Lubuntu install).
