Random hits taking over beacons?

Post by allikat »

I keep hunting for a hacker outpost in anarchies, and keep finding an H on my space compass, which almost always turns out to be a mining hopper at the space bar... Why should this ship be a beacon?

Iron assed bulk haulers for the win!

Of the two trumbles which escaped today from Lave station, only 473 have been located....

You're not going to find a hacker outpost unless you find a hacker viper first and torment him some with your laser to reveal the location of the hacker outpost. Only then will it become visible to your advanced compass.

Check this; ADCK posted 4 bugfixes, one of which removes the beacon from the Mining Hopper from Random Hits (which was unintended anyway). The bugfixes work very well.

The Mining Hopper wasn't supposed to have a beacon code in the first place. Giving him one was just done for debugging purposes in the current beta of Random Hits. Unfortunately there is no version yet after the current beta.

So you're completely safe to simply remove it.
