Passenger ferrying reputation

Post by Diziet Sma »

For the first time, I've tried getting serious about a career transporting passengers about, (3 Passenger Berths fitted and thinking about adding 1 more), and have found the new fare structure pretty good overall. The only thing that puts a slight dampener on things is the inability to tell how your rep is going without opening up your game save file to check.

Both UPS and RandomHits display rep status on the 2nd F5 screen. It would be nice if the in-game bulk-cargo and passenger rep could be displayed in the same way.
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Problem is the flooding of the F5-F5 screen.

There are two workarounds:

(1) for everybody: Are the more lucrative contracts available? If not, chances are that your reputation has waned.

(2) for people with Debug.oxp and a console: type

Code: Select all

player.passengerReputation
or

Code: Select all

player.contractReputation
in the console. It returns your current reputation as a number between 0 and 7.

I suppose a micro Reputations.oxp shouldn't be too difficult to script, and it could provide just what Diziet Sma seems to be after...

Mumble, mumble...
