Re: Progress
Firstly, some context for my opinion... I played Elite on the Speccy in the 80s and I remember my early flights struggling towards Zaonce (I bought slaves in those days  ), feeling the thrill of getting to the station, heading past it towards the planet, only to smash into the front of the ...

Re: Cobra Mk II
Whilst we are talking about other potential Elite ship models I recall a thread featuring a model or OXP somebody produced featuring the ship featured on the front of the box of the original Elite game i.e. the ship shown in my avatar. Could anyone point me in the right direction to find this threa...

Re: ArcElite ships oxp
there's something really great about these colourful flat shaded polygons! When I first saw this look for versions of Elite, I didn't like it. I thought the simple wireframes were better as they encouraged my imagination more. Maybe it's the higher resolution on modern computers, but those screensh...

Re: Extra Planet/Moon textures
Only the main planets use Povray textures. All other planets and moons use DHS textures. No native textures used. Can't remember how it was set up though. That's how I see this project working (i.e. in the manner that you are employing DHS) but with a greater variety of textures. Well, I'm learning...

Re: Extra Planet/Moon textures
Hi JazHaz. So your additional planets all have Oolites native textures? Do you notice any duplication in them from time to time or are they sufficiently, er, 'simple' for it to be a non-issue? BTW I've Checked out DHS and SR and whilst there is some duplication, DHS has more textures, notably the ga...

Re: Extra Planet/Moon textures
Hi Norby! I like your work on the telescope.oxp. I've been wanting something that could show a close up of a target for ages. Thanks! :D I thought that the Deep Horizons textures were reused in System Redux? Am I wrong??? Anyway, I've sourced some other textures that are available under the creative...

Additional Planets SR.oxp
Hi folks, I expect this may have been done before but I've been working on combining the textures of System Demux and System Redux for use in conjunction with Povray Planets. Explicitly: PP provides the 'main' planet textures whilst the SR & SD textures are used for additional planets and moons...

Re: Hello, thank you and a few questions...
According to wiki that system.inhabitants should be system.inhabitantsDescription. I've definitely got some browsing to do on the wiki :| Thanks spara :D Hmm. I of course meant system.info.inhabitants , not system.inhabitants . Sorry about that. You might find the Oolite Javascript reference useful...

Re: Zieman's Habitat Station as a Zero-G stadium???
Thanks for the compliments! :) If you want to make an OXP that uses aforementioned stations as Zero-G sports arenas, go ahead. Hey, thanks for the oxps  I dropped myself right in it with that one  I'm a beginner at scripting but something fairly unambitios, like just asigning it to syste...

Re: Hello, thank you and a few questions...
Having trouble getting this to work using the allowSpawnShip method for stations... So you could add to the Ghavial entry in shipyard.plist the line "condition_script" = "ghavial_conditions.js"; and then add a file called ghavial_conditions.js to the Scripts folder of the OXP thi...
