Interesting OXP, although definitely not something I'd like to see included in the core game. As a player who uses his Torus drive to aggressively head towards pirates/thargoids, this would pretty much kill a lot of my fun.

And the rest of the time I try to avoid Torus driving into objects in space.

Or just buy a bigger ship to haul them around in? tbh - the main things in the game worth flying around looking for the best profit margin, take up less than 1 tonne of cargo space anyway, so not as if storage would help. Was thinking more about this last. What about requests from haulers who have had their escort destroyed by pirates asking the player to escort them to the station for "x amount of credits?" This could apply to haulers with offender or fugitive ratings whose escorts had been destroyed, but ...

I'd prefer a menu for comms options or some sort of keyboard commands in addition to (or instead of) voice recognition.

If only because I feel like a tit talking to my computer. I'm old fashioned that way. :oops:

Freespace 2 has multiplayer as I recall. You can set up for simple one off vs combat scenarios. Not sure how many players it supported though.

However, since v1.77 (I think) player and NPC lasers are the same, so only the fiercest NPCs (eg Green Gecko) should use them. I thought it was 1.79 that brought about laser parity and also accuracy, or is it just the latter. If 1.77 did bring about the advent of laser parity between players and NP...

The White looks really good, but I think using purples in the shading would provide the same contrast and reduce the "greyness" of the white.
