1.06, eh?
IIRC FFE became just about playable at the 1.06 stage...

Re: i5 or i7 Quad Core Processor?
Much air going in (2 fans, 200mm + 140mm), not so much going out (1 fan, 120mm).
Slight overpressure in the case is good to have, but an extra rear or top fan wouldn't hurt IMHO.

Cody, your signature! :D You want to kill everrything peculiar? Fnord? Fnord is evaporated herbal tea without the herbs. Fnord is that funny feeling you get when you reach for the Snickers bar and come back holding a slurpee. Fnord is the 43 1/3rd state, next to Wyoming. Fnord is this really, really...

Maybe some could have (smal...

Re: What else did we play when Elite was king?
What else did we play back then? I had only C64 until I went to University 1995, got a glimpse of 16bit stuff on my friend's Amiga & older sister's 386 a few years before that. The list would be LONG  , but here are a few that I have most fond memories of: C64 Boulder Dash (various versio...

Re: Tales from the spacelanes...
A big Thank You to all who post their exploits here! Nowadays I can't find the energy or time (or as a good gaming session would need, both simultaneously) to play Oolite (or the Other space game either, haven't launched the standard Beta even once :(), these stories are a great way to stay tuned. T...

Re: V-Sync and Animation Smoothness Test
Hmm, all three versions (trunk 7f90b5d, Vsync test1 & Vsync test2) feel smoothest with V-sync forced ON in Nvidia Control Panel. If V-sync is forced OFF, the trunk runs @ 200 FPS (Oolite shows 199), and has visible tearing. Test versions run @ 60 FPS (Oolite shows 59), with bad tearing. V-sync s...

Re: V-Sync and Animation Smoothness Test
Did a couple of quick tests (= stared the smoothly spinning Lave Coriolis for about an hour, several 5-10 minute stints :) ) Results as follows. Last nights trunk (7f90b5d) 1. Vsync ON (adaptive, NOT the half-framerate version, but the one that applies Vsync only when the GPU can indeed supply FPS e...

Mine looked like this about a year ago: http://s5.postimg.org/tv1d6jn77/WP_000329.jpg Now I've just recently moved to a bigger apartment, and have not got all pieces back where they should be (missing a pair of shelves for biggest part, those in the pic went with the previous apartment to the new ow...

Re: Zieman's Habitat Station as a Zero-G stadium???
I think changing the number 30000 to something bigger on lines 71, 73 & 75 in Z_Hab_mk2.js might just do that.
