I am now running this version of the distro on my main laptop, and can confirm that an Oolite 1.76.1 package is included and working. I suppose this means the same will be true of Ubuntu 12.10, if it is not already there in 12.04.

Tried it, and Oolite downloads and installs to the Pi just fine. However when you try to run it, nothing happens. Looking at the latest log reveals that Oolite has failed to start owing to OpenGL errors (as expected). Heh, on my emulator it fails before it gets that far - I haven't set up sound yet.

Well 1.76.1 is in Debian Wheezy (currently frozen). I am running on QEMU ATM while I wait for my PI to arrive. Rest assured, it will be one of the first things I try

I understand the bit about scripts themselves running in a single-threaded environment, but what if, say, you attempt to award some equipment to a ship in flight, and it gets destroyed after the canAwardEquipment() call and before the awardEquipment() call? Well, I did look back when I was writing my OXPs, and decided that awardEquipment() was a simpler way of doing it as it gives a return code for success/failure. No need to check first then do it anyway.
