Re: notepad ++ leaves Sourceforge

And I've run Notepad++ fine without any issues in Linux using WINE, so it's not just for Windows users 8)

Re: [WIP/1.79-only] Communications Pack A

I've seen a bandit Sidewinder demanding cargo from a GalCop Viper Interceptor. Could happen, the way the messages are set up - there's a lot of "give us your cargo" on the generic pirate attack messages. Would require quite a bit of extra complication in the OXP to stop it happening, unfo...

Occasional stuttering sound under Oolite v1.8x / Linux Mint

Hi, I've noticed on occasion when running Oolite v1.80 and v1.82 under Linux Mint 17.1 that I get a sound stuttering problem turning up. Most of the time I have to restart the game to fix it, but sometimes it seems to resolve itself - and it doesn't appear to affect the 'read messages' voice. It doe...

Re: Empty polling station - UK election 2015

Then there's our constitution. There isn't one. This, I'm okay with. The only constitution which would get majority support for introduction is one that codified the current mess, and made it even harder to fix later. And given the general faffing about that the US has with its written constitution...

Re: Empty polling station - UK election 2015

What intrigues me is the lopsided imbalance in the UK system with respect to "number of votes a party got" with "number of seats won" (http://thestandard.org.nz/the-difference-an-electoral-system-makes/) - minor parties essentially get shafted to the benefit of big parties. Both ...

Re: Blender 3d Modeling Tutorials

I must be a blithering idiot, as I can't even seem to be able to follow Staer's OP Blender tutorial for setting up the workspace on Blender 2.6.9 running on 64-bit Linux Mint 17.1 (Cinnamon), let alone modelling anything... so I'm completely lost even before I start. Can anyone point to any " B...

Wildeblood, you could have at least warned us to have a pair of Joo Janta 200 Super-Chromatic Taste Sensitive(1) sunglasses handy before clicking that link...

(1) Similar to their Peril Sensitive range, but for artistic sensibility.

Re: Tales from the spacelanes...

I pulled into the aegis at Biorve, about halfway through a parcel run, and got told I was seventh in the queue. Fair enough. I positioned Mercurial Amethyst next to the nav buoy, and waited patiently. After number six had docked, I got told I was number seven again due to prioritised launches. At t...

Re: Thunderbirds Are Back!

Well, I embraced my inner boy and caught up on the first few eps. I like the retro feel of the animation, just clunky enough to believe there're still strings attached. As mentioned above, the space-mine ep was a bit of fun, just enough of a dig at the public service for a few chuckles. Glad to see...

Re: Elite: Dangerous - and other stuff!

Well, now I guess we've seen a sample of the "contextually appropriate" in-game advertising mentioned in the EULA, that I raised hell about on the ED forums. Very sad to see, Frontier. Congratulations on meeting the low expectations I had of you, after discovering that clause. Once...

I remember Omni - it's been years since I've read one though.
