Empty polling station - UK election 2015

Post by Cody »

I've just cast my votes, and the polling station was deserted - I was the only punter!
Admittedly, my ward ain't renowned for high turn-outs - but it is sad, nevertheless!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

The UK general election is today.

There was nobody there when I voted either. Mind you, I did turn up at about 7 in the morning!

Same here - just one person leaving as I went in. And my bloke won't win anyway!

Massive swings from Labour to the SNP in Scotland tonight, and if an exit poll has it right, the Conservatives could come close to a majority at Westminster!

I see I'm not the only one still up for the results, then.

So far not a lot outside Scotland changing hands, but most of the easy seats to count are pretty safe.

I don't usually, but I rated this election as one of the most important in recent years.
The LibDems are taking a right old slapping, even in my neck of the woods!

What a large docking bay! I guess they have some special ships there, very large. I would be interested to know what industry needs this...

Yes, I have a nasty feeling the lib-dems are reaping the whirlwind for the Faustian pact with the Conservatives.
To the liberal mind they "tempered" the conservatives to the general public (and their grass roots supporters) they "sold out". It's going to take them at least a decade to dig their way out of this one.

Unfortunate as this sets the stage for a long conservative stretch. Labour has been hamstrung. Ukip will have difficulty retaining its small share after the referendum (who will in all likely hood defect back to the conservatives). SNP is I'm afraid going to see any vote it doesn't give a s*it about as a perfect opportunity to barter and bargain (They are going to be a major Tory pain in the ass however so it's not all plain sailing for the boys in blue).

Unfortunately the Conservatives are weakest when they think they've won. They tend to celebrate, get into scandals. They don't tend to loose on the politics but the hulking gap between the things they preach and the things they do.

So in the long run the press will have a field day mainly because the Tories love luxury a little too much...... It'll take time but it'll slowly start poisoning their chances in the marginals.

And now we have the 'falling on swords' part, followed no doubt by the back-stabbing part.
