Re: Oolite Wiki

Would we be able to edit the thus-created pages? We do have people writing material whose English spelling & grammar could benefit from help - and being read by others with similar issues. If we can edit the material so that our readers or the automatic translators can at least translate accura...

Re: Oolite Wiki

"information_url" = already got a pointer to where additional information are offered, usually wiki I am aware of that field in the manifest. It is definitely better than nothing. But while I was searching for user's manual how to actually benefit from installed expansions, equipment or s...

Re: Recovering "Lost" OXPs

There is a page on the wiki for this: List of Planets used in OXPs : http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/List_of_Planets_used_in_OXPs It is linked on the OXP howto page . Ah yes, it was likely created as part of that conversation, but is easily left outdated. https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?f=4&...

Re: Recovering "Lost" OXPs

I seem to recall a conversation from a few years back about appropriating planets in an OXP and how that could cause trouble if the same planet was receiving treatment by two unrelated OXPs. Does someone with a better brain for these things maybe have more detail so we can see if this is still rele...

Re: BigSur and Oolite

If I understood the conversation on GitHub correctly ( https://github.com/OoliteProject/oolite/issues/360 ), the new Mac OS 11 (Big Sur) renders Oolite unplayable on the new AppleMacs. The conversation rather seems to be about M1 based Macs, not about Big Sur (although they do run on Big Sur of cou...

Re: Thargoid War @ Biorle - Missing expansion pack wanted

I wasn't aware that Tionisla Reporter required Behemoth (back when I worked on it, it didn't), but there you go! As mentioned above, I don't know the status of Galactic Navy, but if you've downloaded it, just drop the .oxp into your AddOns folder and see what happens. GN is still functioning, there...

Re: Dr Vaccine - or how I learned to stop worrying and love the jab

Having now had both my jabs, and with lockdown being lifted tomorrow (in England), I was looking forward to going out and getting drunk. Unfortunately, my favourite watering hole (going back decades) has had to close permanently. Damn! Lucky you! Looking forward to my, as yet unscheduled, first one!

Re: Oolite Wiki

Feel free to do what needs to be done to improve it. As regards almost all Oolite Wiki stuff, I'd agree. But a user's personal legend should be sacrosanct. Having had some discourteous person tinker with mine, and attempt a synopsis of one of my tales (and getting it wrong), I feel very strongly ab...

Re: Oolite Wiki

It looks good to me, but the final decision will be with a_c and Malik. Guys, the wiki content has never been controlled in any way by the developers (excluding minor changes here and there when inaccuracies or factual errors are noted). Feel free to do what needs to be done to improve it. Bust wha...

Re: Oolite Wiki

I wonder how we could automate this. Long-term it is a pain to maintain things twice, and thus will not happen consistently (e.g. if an OXZ author updates the description for the extension manager the copy on the wiki would need an update, too). Couldn't we have one source for this data only, and h...
