Is it possible to use an XBox 360 controller in Oolite?
It should be possible. I’ve got some XBox one controllers lying around so I might have a go at setting one of them up and report what I find. The process should be similar for an XBox 360 controller.

Re: [Release] Imperial Astrofactory 2.0

It makes sense. But at that point you’re essentially recreating the scenario system within OoliteStarter, with the downside that it still wouldn’t be able to restrict mods from being installed next to SW if they just go to the mod list and start downloading them. Having SW as a scenario would preven...

Re: [Release] Imperial Astrofactory 2.0

That would be because the astrofarm is a new station which SW has never seen before and thus doesn’t know what to do with, I guess. More evidence for why SW should have been set up as a scenario, and mods only allowed in when SW is changed to know what to do with them. Anyway, I’ll spin up a SW envi...

Re: [Release] Imperial Astrofactory 2.0

No more error messages. But my latest.log is massive (all those oxps bunging in stuff): Your message contains 130713 characters. The maximum number of allowed characters is 60000. (Log file for merely loading game, only launching from Astrofarm and then immediately quitting!) Ah, good. If there’s n...

Re: Finding some gold fills my cargo hold

Did the gold come with an otherwise empty container that still takes up cargo space? How do I get rid of it? Actually, yes. Scooped cargo will always take up 1t of space. For things like gold, platinum and gemstones, the space is taken up until you dock, at which point all the items are transferred...

But <snip>
Better PM me a full copy of your log file after you've applied the new AstroFactory, the new Draven, and the new DeepSpaceDredger Facelift (should be in the expansion manager now).

OK, we're ready for a test release. I'll put both OXP's here, so you don't have to go too far.

Re: Oolite Flavours

so I know you know it's wrong. So why don't we agree to not correct each other's spelling, going forward? You can redraft all the details of all 256 systems, and present chart 1 as chart 9 the second time around. The only new thing we'd need for that would be the ability to change the screen title ...

You can do all that now with javascript
There are limits to what can be achieved with JS. You could create a space (reachable by misjumping between two planets), turn off the Thargoids, add a planet or two, some stations, even get some traffic moving around. But you can't add a sun via JS.

Re: Oolite Flavours

How very diplomatic. :D You don't want to see me being non-diplomatic. (BTW, artefact is spelt with an E. Artificial is derived from artifice, not artefact.) Unless you read a lot of American fiction growing up, in which they all tended to spell it "artifact", and thus so do I. Sometimes....

Re: Oolite Flavours

The eight charts (yawn, "galaxies") is an 'orrible kludge, arising from Elite's 8-bit origins I would challenge the view that the 8 charts are a kludge. Yes, definitely an artifact of the 8-bit origins and galaxy seeds and so forth, but not a kludge. Bell & Braben could have left the ...

Long story short, I'm used to defining my own keyboard shortcuts and my only complaint is that Oolite doesn't offer an interface to do so.
If you're able to run it, Oolite version 1.91 has a full keyboard configuration system built in. Including the ability to use non US/UK keyboards effectively.
