Re: Playership can't collide?
1.77.0.5480 (gentoo i386) & I can't collide with boulders :( This is terrible because it's how I mine without a mining laser. I do collide with the station docking tunnels plenty, though. Also, scooping splinters is terribly difficult now (cargo containers, metal fragments, & escape capsules...

Re: Alternative compass implementation
If you assume that the witchpoint, sun, & planet are all in the plane of the ecliptic (but this assumes that the sun doesn't rotate, which I guess may well be in Oolite) the display of your cardinal points should be possible without having to set arbitrary beacons (though not necessarily trivial...

Re: some good oxp's
I like having lots of stuff going on in systems, so Galactic Navy & Your Ad Here are good, as with practically all of the political systems stuff like Anarchies, Commies, The Feudal States, Dictators, & Factions. Buoy Repair, & Rescue Stations also add a bit of fun. Also, you need a Beer...

It's a TINY bit of a pig, with all those giant textures, at around 15M, but here's a copy I had sitting around: https://www.box.com/s/koz8uqujcb8e9dq1hnk8

Re: The Feudal States
Also, (assuming your unzip is similar to mine here) try running unzip with the -a option when you unzip files from other operating systems (as most OXPs & such will inevitably be): -a convert text files. Ordinarily all files are extracted exactly as they are stored (as ``binary'' files). The -a ...

Re: The Feudal States
I'm embarrassed to say, I can't figure out how to run the debug console [on Linux]. I've downloaded Debug OXP and the ZIP file with the python scripts. I made DebugConsole.py and pySimpleConsole.py executable, and tried running them in the terminal which gives $ '/home/robert/Downloads/DebugConsole...

Re: RepairBots OXP
Ah, turns out the missing equipment was a borked shipyard.plist(?!) . . . , so no fault of yours. Sorry. As to the planetary landing capability, for some reason that bit gets shot quite frequently (for me, anyway) and even under the older, non-charge version the repair bots will work furiously on it...

Re: RepairBots OXP
Running trunk 1.77.0.5108, i386, linux. I installed 2.07 and decided it was a pain (the nanobots waste charges trying to repair the planetary landing system . . .) and moved back to 2.05. Now that save file has lost about 60% of the EQ including all four lasers and the docking computers. I've copied...

Re: ThinkPad Keyboard - Keymap
Running xev(1) on an old IBM X-40 gives 166 & 167 for the keycodes of the left & right versions of those keys.
I'm pretty sure it's decimal.

Re: S.T.E dead in space?
Well, I still have an old copy of Ste3cV1.4.oxp.zip hanging around. box.com isn't being very fast, though. If you want to pm me, I could shuffle it your way via e-mail (it's a 930K file).
Edit: Well, box.com appears to hate opera, but see if this works: https://www.box.com/s/0dc7f6199323f29fff04

They're pretty aggressive, & they're small. I mean, they'd have made pretty short work of me, but there was a Naval Raptor nearby to take some of the heat.

Re: Anaconda Blues
I don't think all the practice in the World will help when you fly an Anaconda. A dogfighter it is not! A military laser and a steady hand, & 90% of pirates will be toast before they get close enough to hit you. And you've got seven pylons. Load them with HardHeads and scare the other 10...
