I don't know which 8-bit version you remember but the Speccy was just a unfilled circle IIRC. :) That's not to say it wasn't rotating, it was just kinda hard to tell. ;)

I meant more kinda Activity Monitor but fair enough. I was mostly curious to see what your RAM/Swap file usage was but you're probably right and it's more of an Oolite issue per se, rather than an operating system issue.
