Another day, another update... Nearly done! :D OS's to install and a bit of tidying to do. So, epilogue aside, here's the final chapter: I could go on endlessly about my struggles with my captive nuts, or how hard my hard drive was, but for now I'll stick with cosmetics. Bear in-de-house: http://img...

Another Update: ( Bet you thought I'd given up! ) The story so far... The brave and possibly insane Charlie had an idea: 'I've had an idea!' 'I'll take my Acorn A3000 and replace its guts with PC components: Retro gaming heaven, and a proper pute on which to play Oolite!' 8) 'It will be my magnifice...

@Dr Nil, LB et al: Eeek! Every time I think I've plumed the depths of our lunatic society I find there is yet more... and more... and more... Is it just that we enjoy Oolite simply as a game, or is it that there is some comfort to be found in the idea of being alone in deep space cocconed in a...

Sony Vaio Keyboard now on the way... 99p  @ this rate I'll have to open an eBay shop. 'Keyboards aRse' maybe? Dremmeling, dremmeling, always dremmeling... Judging by the volume of shavings I must have made six computers by now. Currently working on the IO plate - very tedious, ve...

@Dr. Nil: I'm sad to admit I completely agree with your comments. The wonder is not that we live in this kind of Orwellian Horror, but that we have any freedoms at all! "What luck for the rulers that men do not think." -Adolf Hitler- "The great masses of the people... will more easily...

Wow! 8) :D This will be great, thanks for all your hard work. I've got to admit most of these details are over my head. Everything I've done so far has been from trial & error messing with PSP & 3D packages. I've never looked into shaders, mip-maps, texture maps, etc... I hope someone produc...

*Edit*
  • Yet another keyboard has arrived that I can't use!! :(
Anyone seen something that will do?

Please don't let me resort to rewiring the A3000 keyboard! That would be too horrible to contemplate!
*Edit*

PS
I didn't kill the GFX card when I took a Dremmel to it.

Oookaaay... another update. Bit of a scary one this time. ( Try to think of some appropriate music ) So, keyboard sent was the wrong one - I'm still awaiting a reply from the 'supplier'. ( I'll post a list of helpful & not-so-helpful  peeps I've delt with during this build... ) I'm...

FWIW:
For big ships ( or where you don't want any debris ) a quick fix for this is to add landonPlanet to a deathactions entry in the shipdata.plist

If you're feeling v. clever futher entries can be made to spawn the amount of stuff you do want.

Thanks LB: Yes, in the process of discussing the subleties of what I'm attempting with this .oxp on another thread a lot of bugs turned up that I wasn't aware of... Ahruman has warned me that later releases of Oolite will be MUCH less tollerant of 'dodgy code'. We'll have to see if it's just ...
