Thanks EV. Stop thinking, start writing... please...Nice little tale, btw... trouble is, it's now got me thinking about a first-person tale... bugger!
Great! Just noticed a load of mistakes... Bugger
Static
Whilst clearing out some old kit I found some partially completed ooliterature that I was working on 3 or4 years ago. Normally I just bin this stuff but this time I though I'd have a bash at finishing it and letting you poor people "enjoy" it. So, I suppose I'm proud to present Static - ht...

Re: A slight non-runinng issue with 1.75.4
Thanks for the reply,
I reverted back to gnustep-base 1.19.3, made your suggested changes and recompiled. I'm afraid it behaves exactly as before.
I'll try and get a clang build sorted today, in the long term that will be more desirable.

Re: A slight non-runinng issue with 1.75.4
FreeBSD currently uses GCC 4.2.1 from 2007, because of a policy decision not to use GPLv3 software. The Objective-C runtime library is provided with the compiler, which is why you have an old runtime and this warning message. Indeed, however I had to "adjust the port" to build the develop...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia
Ding ding! Selezen wins.
I remember having my mind total blown by the complete lack of an ending to that book... in recent years I found out that Dick actually used the i Ching to write the book itself. Whacko or genius? I've never really managed to work out which he is.

No one?
Ok, another clue.
The Novel in question was written in 1962 and won a Hugo Award the following year.

Re: A slight non-runinng issue with 1.75.4
It looks like I've managed to finally track down the problem. WARNING your program is becoming multi-threaded, but you are using an ObjectiveC runtime library which does not have a thread-safe implementation of the +initialize method. This means that any classes not already used may be incorrectly i...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia
I remember reading Seed of the Gods at school and being completely unimpressed. Ancient astronauts... pah. Anyway, on to my question... I'm looking for the name of the book within a book, and the fictitious author. The novel itself is ultimately a story centered around Hexagram 61 It asks the questi...

Re: A slight non-runinng issue with 1.75.4
Have you got OpenGL on that machine? Once again I appreciate your assistance but as I said in my initial post it runs 1.75.3 just fine. The machine has 2 Quadro cards in it and is running the latest (285.09.05) FreeBSD 64bit ports tree drivers. GLX Information for pyro:0.0: direct rendering: Yes GL...

Thanks for your reply, I have now. It opens a blank context where the splash screen usual goes and then does exactly the same as before.Have you tried launching with -nosplash as a parameter?

A slight non-runinng issue with 1.75.4
Hi, I've finally decided to have a bash at compiling 1.75.4 (trunk) on my FreeBSD workstation in preparation for the MNSR. After a few additional tweaks to the makefile as detailed here - https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10375#p146976 it compiles without issue. However once I start th...

Re: What OS do you run Oolite on? [POLL]
Ah, but is that not based on Unix, and therefore should come under Linux, as Linux is based on Unix? What?!?! I've killed for less and I'll damn sure do it again! :P Linux isn't based on UNIX. It just behaves like it. It derives no source or direct development from UNIX, in fact there have been ver...
