Howdy - Apologies for necro-ing this thread somewhat, but... Don't know if this was scheduled to be fixed, or got fixed - but i just experienced the exact same problem - an 'External Fuel Tank - Empty' bought for silly money somewhere (it wasn't a rock hermit for me, I can't actually remember sadly ...

Howdy all..
First played Elite on a BBC Micro
Managed to get to Elite Status on the ZX speccy version
Tried other versions, then stumbled on Oolite one day - amazing stuff. Many thanks go out to all the expansion pack people that breathe new life into this amazing game.
