Re: GNN

Hey, out of interest, is there a reason that this and Library are not available through the in-game OXP manager? Especially if all these various OXPs are being updated quite regularly as things are ported over from the older versions, it's kind of convenient being able to check for and install new u...

Re: [WIP] GalCop Missions

Oooh, while you're at it, I just had a Gun Runner mission where I was supposed to "collect by any means necessary" 4 tonnes of firearms... but when I went into the mission screen to check my progress, it should "0 of 4 tonnes of narcotics". I guess there's a mismatch/copypasta er...

Re: [WIP] GalCop Missions

Seems like the latest version is spewing lots of JS errors. I get dozens of these: 22:55:56.843 [script.javaScript.exception.unexpectedType]: ***** JavaScript exception (GalCopBB_CargoStopper 0.2.4): TypeError: cargo.velocity is undefined I don't think it affects the cargo stopper functionality in n...

Re: (Release) Station Dock Control OXP

Looks like there's a problem with the "launch before this ship" functionality in the latest version. Whenever I try this it gets stuck "establishing communications". Turns out that in the log there's this: 22:55:54.073 [StationDockControl]: !!NOTE: Search for free launch time hit...

Re: [Release] Bulletin Board system

I'm only one person, so maybe this isn't worth faffing with if no one else thinks it's a good idea. I definitely agree that putting text on the map is a mistake. Personally I'd be happy to lose the "close" option in exchange for a quick "next" option from the map, but that make i...

Re: [Release] Bulletin Board system

Yeah, that does seem like a reasonable compromise - it would certainly help me filter down the list to ones worth looking at more closely. Out of interest, would it (in theory, perhaps not in practice if it's a faff to do) be possible to do the next/previous thing on the map but also display the con...

Re: [Release] Bulletin Board system

Ok, will give it a go when I get a moment. In the meantime I have a suggestion/feature request. With some of the old mission screens - I think the escort missions and maybe also the parcel/passenger/cargo ones, you could view the map for the mission and then press next/previous to scroll through the...

Re: [Release] Bulletin Board system

Hey, Just got a chance to try out the latest update. Looks like the Escort Missions still aren't working quite as expected on the BB. I accepted one from the BB, but then something weird happened. The F4 screen showed me as only having one mission active in the main list (I already had another missi...

Re: [Split] Distro vs oolite.org binaries

Non-compliant with whom? What exactly is wrong with our pngs and how much work are oxp authors going to have to do to fix these problems? Non-compliant with the PNG standard or one of the standards it depends on. Formats like PNG can be displayed as images on a screen because there are a bunch of a...

Re: [Split] Distro vs oolite.org binaries

What is the answer then? Bottom line: this *&^? is hard, and anyone who pretends otherwise is either lying, deluded, or hasn't spent any serious time developing large-scale software. From the perspective of the developer of a small app with limited deps, the policies of the distro maintainers c...

Re: PNG warnings

I'm looking for a volunteer I have very little time before May this year (I shouldn't really even be playing Oolite!) but after that I might be a bit more free. If there's still a discussion to be had about this then I might be up for looking into it... It would be nice to find a solution that bala...

Re: [WIP] GalCop Missions

Special delivery seems to work better now - as do the comm relay missions. Thanks! I think the Cargo Stopper might be a bit OP as a general usage piece of kit. Perhaps it should have an energy cost like the Range Finder? Or a higher cost? It makes cargo scooping kinda trivial. Another thing that see...

Re: [Split] Distro vs oolite.org binaries

So, just tossing a few more cents into the pile: Who maintains the "official" arch package for oolite? Would they definitely be opposed to the idea of having the package simple wrap the existing script provided on oolite.org? That would allow the app to work as intended by the devs even wh...

Re: New versions of Interstellar Tweaks, Fer-de-Lance 3G and Extra Thargoids available

I got an error in the log about a missing semi in some plist file at line 1627. With a little command-line fu it wasn't hard to track down since there aren't many plist files with more than 1627 lines ;-)

Re: PNG warnings

Ok, this all sounds good, but then it does raise the question: why can't the "official" package for Oolite on Arch use the bundled libraries rather than formal deps? Is this a "religious" thing whereby packages with bundled libraries aren't allowed in the arch repos? If so, would...
