I don't know if you are using the original version or the altered version I uploaded last week. (version 1.1). Whit that last version I never had problems on docking.
It's whatever version is bundled with 'Zzzz Realistic Shipyards V3.01.oxp'.

Reincarnating an old thread here... I'm having trouble docking with Deep Space Dredgers too. Not because I can't line it up, but because it doesn't register I've docked. Even if it's stationary, I go into it's docking port, but it doesn't dock. I'd hit the back of the docking bay if I didn't come to...

Hey chaps. The good news is that the drivers from Nvidia solved it. Smooth as a baby's bottom! However, the bad news is, he's got Vista now  and Oolite has gone all tits up again. And this time, having gone to the Nvidia website, the FX5200 isn't in the supported card list for the Vista...

Thanks for all the tips chaps. Will install the Nvidia driver off their site when next I'm round at my Dad's house. Fingers crossed.

Cheers.

it's probably just a driver you need to install. Often jerky gameplay means you don't have the latest drivers installed for your graphics card, which might very well be the case with a fresh install... Go to Nvidia's site to check for the latest drivers, I'd say. Well, I did click something on the ...

Slow and jerky

Hey chaps My dad has just done another reinstall of XP, and he wants me to put Oolite on for him. It's not gone well. Oolite is installed, and runs, but it's so slow and jerky, it's unplayable. Surely it shouldn't be this way. It's a 3GHz P4, 512 mb, Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 graphics card, all running...

Gnah! Are you sure that’s 1.65? Absolutely positive. So can we gather it is just me then? Did it again a few minutes ago, but solved itself within seconds this time. When it happens, it's always in the middle of a fight with lots going on and lots of sound effects going at once. Plus don't f...

It's just done it again! Now using v1.65. In a witchspace misjump, lots of stuff going on with Thargoids, laser in much use, and bam... white noise sound effects. Checked the log, and I see this entry: 2006-07-31 14:51:16.874 Oolite[6060] OOCASoundMixer: failed to connect channel <OOCASoundChannel 0...

I too noticed this. A destroyed Thargoid Carrier leaves a screen full of alloys which slows my Powerbook down to a juddering crawl.

Incidentally, what also effects the speed is when the space background is of the red nebula effect. Strangely, no other nebula colour effects it to any great degree.

White noise

Very occasionally, something goes wrong with the sound. All the sound effects will suddenly be replaced with white noise - like a flashback to the 80s, loading something from cassette. Then after an unpredictable amount of time, just as suddenly as it happened, it flicks back to normal again. Using ...

custsounds.oxp

Got the custsounds.oxp installed, which is nice. But is it just me, or are some of them not working? Of ones I've noticed, the docking/whichspace jump whoosh is now mute, as is the ECM sound. What I presume is the appropriate ogg sounds are in the package, and they play, but the game just doesn't us...

Space compass

What does 'D' mean when it comes up on the space compass? Occasionally, when cycling through the options, it points me to a 'D'. But before I can get there and find out what it is, it's disappeared. Am I missing something here? Currently doing both the Ionics and military missions. Anything to do wi...

I get Thargoid attacks almost always too. You say they should attack about 5% of the time - I'd say it's more like 5% chance they won't. As a poster before said, best to save as the first thing you do upon docking.

Using the latest Oolite on Mac.

Cheated a bit now and inserted the missing options. I am in the same situation, just saved up for military shields, but can't install them. I don't know the first thing about programing, so it would probably take me days if not weeks to figure out how to modify the game so that my Josher will accep...
