Smivs - Now there's a thought! Yes, I have a variety of stations from PAGroove, ZGrOovy and Griff.
I will use Okti's method of elimination, remove 'em all (the stations and rock hermits) and replace them singly.
I shall report ( ... pitter-patter of hob-nailed boots fade into the distance ...)

Re: Excessive log errors
Don't get hung up on the idea of cobras and rock hermits folks, see some actual errors below and notice all the different ships and different dockables, including coriolis and icosahedron stations! 15:06:53.287 [station.launchShip.failed]: Cancelled launch for a Urutu Mk III with role defense_ship, ...

Re: Excessive log errors
Thanks for the info Fatleaf, mostly reassuring.
No3 is a puzzler because it is on occasion refering to Cobras, which are not huge, and other similar small type ships.
Yeay, again thanks

Re: Excessive log errors
Thanks for the help, fellers, I have to say Mauiby de Fug was right, it was Shady Sung, and I should have searched harder to find the right forum topic. Okti, you were helpful in pointing out the way to identify the culprit oxp, thanks for that. I hope no-one (JazHaz?) was upset by my including the ...

Re: Excessive log errors
Hi Okti, the log is rather large to include here but can be found below: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11051197/Excessive%20errors.log There is no oxp to be found either prior to, or at the end of each bunch of error lines. I also have 285 oxps in the game, which makes it difficult to pinpoint a guilty on...

Excessive log errors
I have been getting an excess of errors in my log files, all about the same kind of error but quoting differing numbers. Here is an example: 15:33:27.901 [Total_patrol]: Adding additional police. 15:34:16.701 [strings.conversion.vector]: ***** ERROR: cannot make vector from '0.3, 0.3, 0.33, 1.0': co...

Re: How many pylons do you have?
Chopped cobra has only three, and it's a case of laser or leave 'em ... at speed! My pylons are for extra fuel to cover distance fast, either fleeing or chasing. I had modified a falcon to carry 10 missiles but found no real advantages over the good use of a military laser. Feudal challenges hone th...

Re: New distribution-neutral package format
Yep! It is definitely not a command for a newbie. Thanks folks for the explanation. It all makes sense, and I can see how someone would want to use it. (I have dabbled in programming from Acorn BBC days to batch files on a PC but with no formal training. I'm not a programmer, but I can now re-instal...

Re: New distribution-neutral package format
Thanks guys, I learned how to get Oolite going with linux, and for a newbie the 'sudo' is the right piece of advice. I don't understand 'sudo bash' but perhaps it is better not to at my level of linux involvement. My trying to find a use for an old 486 machine has fallen flat as: a) Oolite (plus add...

YAAaaaay! Thank-you DaddyHoggy, rusty or not you have fired up my boiler. I go now to find my addons folder to fill.

Re: New distribution-neutral package format
Thanx DaddyHoggy, it confirms my understanding of what I should be doing. However, after the password request has been fulfilled, I keep getting a message 'command not found'. My windows experience says that the downloaded oolit prog is not in the right place, or that I am not in the right directory...

Re: New distribution-neutral package format
Getafix, As a Linux newbie, I may well be trying your patience here. I thought I'd hit gold finding your detailed how to install, but I am so new, I need to ask some very stoopid questions. 1. I have extracted the "oolite-1.75.2-beta.linux-x86.run", so where do I put it to be in the correc...

Re: UPDATED OXP: Kestrel&Falcon 1.70.1
Don't know why target reticle (reticule?) doesn't work with the Falcon, but I do know that the Milhud v3.4 has the target reticle built into it, and certainly works beautifully with the falcon, and most other craft. The Milhud is superb and does away with the target reticle.oxp Malcul Also try the K...
