Re: Oolite FAQ - New Forum Members Please Read......
Hello again! It's been a while since I've played, and I see there's a new version of the game out! How do I change my commander name in 1.80? Saving the game and choosing my name there doesn't seem to do it, so I'm stuck as a Jameson on the station menus D:

Re: Your Oolite Identity
Generally, I've mostly been sticking with the Cobra Mk III while playing as Polzin. In part this is because I still can't afford any other ship at the moment, and in part it's because I like to try and keep my experience relatively close to classic Elite as possible, so I just stick with the ship yo...

Re: Your Oolite Identity
Well, I have a couple of identities, one for my forum identity (If there were a way of changing my display name to just Chaz or Chaz GELF I'd do it but I'll stick with it now) and one for the pilot I've been using a lot. Name: CF-172, prefers to be called "Chaz" Species: VALHALLA-Prototype...

"Shunt" and "Sgt Bash" would be fun names. Of course I'm just thinking of names of House Robots from Robot Wars.

"We cannae use the injectors, cap'n! We hivna got the witchdrive fuel necessary for it! Nithin at a'!"
That would be awesome. If I ever get into making OXPs, I wonder if custom messages would be possible. I'd love to customise my ship's computer to fully speak the Doric.

Re: Poll: What is your Ooniverse like?
You've forgotten one or two options here: "I'm straight up Strict Mode, no OXPs at all" and "I've made the place look pretty, but the difficulty hasn't changed." I'd be the latter of those two. :p EDIT: My bad, you did include a "No OXPs that change the difficulty" opti...

Is it just me or did some of the voices disappear?
After upgrading from 1.74.2 or so to 1.75.2, I noticed something rather disconcerting. It appears that not all of the Spoken Message voice options that were present in previous versions are in this version. In particular, I'm a little saddened that the "en-scottish" voice option isn't in h...

Re: Feature requests for Oolite 2.0
I don't know if this is really possible or not, but having a cockpit view option (As in actually seeing the interior of your ship's cockpit) would be a neat eye-candy update. I don't mind either way, of course, but it's something I like in other space trading games like Evochron and X2, so it'd be n...

Re: Joystick/gamepad deadzone
After experimenting some more, it seems to primarily be an issue with my joystick right now. As I said before, it's a few years old, and there was a period of a few months where I didn't even use it, so its spring is a little looser than it should be. If I wiggle it about a fair bit and hold it to ...

Re: Extra Joystick axis configurations.
I would like to be able to set a deadzone in Oolite without needing to compile it myself (Mostly because right now I'm afraid to touch code in case I break something horribly). If it could be included in a config file somewhere, that'd be neat. My Saitek Cyborg Evo joystick seems to only want to dri...

Re: Joystick drift…
I'm on 1.75.2 right now, and I'm still getting a joystick drift issue. I'm on an older Saitek Cyborg Evo (Had it for two or three years now). My X axis is set to yaw, Y axis to pitch, and Z Rotation to roll. For me, my yaw tends to drift to the left a lot, meaning my X axis is off centre. I'm on Win...

Re: Joystick/gamepad deadzone
Man, it's been a while since I was last here. Good to hear that a deadzone's been implemented in the game, I tried using my joystick drivers and setting a deadzone on the axis that was giving me trouble, but I still kept drifting to the left as always. (I like to think it's a technical malfunction w...
