Re: Brexit vote, the zombie apocalypse and other fallout.

Definitely the right guy to lead negotiations with EU. I don't know if I should laugh or cry...

No panic! Or is there any reason for her not to withdraw in the coming weeks?

Re: New model utilities

Thanks for the triangle explanation! I've seen that the dat files can only handle triangles anyhow, so this would be something to consider, when exporting a SketchUp model back to dat. Scale transformation from metres to inches is working. Just add scale = 39.37007874 and change the line @verts.push...

Re: New model utilities

Mystery 2) is solved. The unit used in the dat files is metres, but SketchUp interprets the numbers as inches. So the 133.888 m length of the Python is reduced to 133.888", that's exactly 3400.7552 mm. Rounding seems to be leading to some inaccuracies in the model, so scaling it up inside Sketc...

The next one to resign will probably be the Queen.

Re: New model utilities

I'll just warm up this old thread... Importing an Oolite model to SketchUp was just what I was looking for, because I'm used to SketchUp and I don't want to learn another 3D program. I even thought about writing a converter myself, as the dat file format doesn't seem to be very complex. I imported (...

Re: EU referendum and the zombie apocalypse

The EU is far from perfect. There are rational arguments for being outside the EU. What I find unforgivable, though, is that we find ourselves in this position without a clue of what we're going to do. Not one of the Brexiteers has even a ghost of a plan: they're either just fantasists, looking out...

Re: Belkin Nostromo N52

That's something I never really understood. But this stuff comes per container ship and needs several weeks. Shipping rates for a 20' container from China to Europe seem to be only a few 100 $. And now think about how many faulty USB cables fit into one container!

Re: EU referendum

I try to see things positively: If they quit, the chances of the Pound dropping even more than the Euro could make my next vacation in Britain much cheaper! :)

Problem: I have no family and no cats to eat, if things get really out of hand...

Re: Right arrow key doesn't work on status screen

Perhaps it's a dumb question, but part of my job is doing software support, and I know that even questions like this can solve problems: Can you rule out the keyboard itself? Does Ctrl-Up work in other programs?

Ok, but then what I said is possibly irrelevant, because I was talking of the standard Boa that comes with version 1.82 or 1.83.
