Re: Parcel Delivery

Orange contract offers can appear frequently when buying equipment that is ingame-time expensive. Such as repairing military shields while on a parcel run. Don't. Hehe.
Obviously the contract's starting time is the time the player jumped into the system, not the current time.

Re: New version of my Fer-de-Lance 3G

What I'd really need is military scanner filtering though. None of your player versions can have it, but the NPCs can have the jammer. And this is the only reason I want the filter, as none of my other OXPs let NPCs have the jammer. The military manta ray I'm flying has a turret on each side with we...

Re: Penalty for ramming ships near stations

I'd like to point out that NPCs sometimes "use" ramming too. -I've been waiting once with a very light (small/little mass) ship between the nav buoy and the station. A Caddy Omega came out, was playing chicken game, hit me, I was thrown backwards into the nav buoy. BOOM press space. -I sup...

Re: Random element in parcel rep, bonuses, and maintenance

Some galaxies are probably better suited than others. Not because they are a higher number, but because the necessary journey tends to be longer. I think that's what lets the reward increase, length in hours calculated by minimum number of jumps. Since the time per jump increases exponentially (? - ...

Re: Random element in parcel rep, bonuses, and maintenance

The maintenance overhaul message kicks in when this factor drops below 85. Something must be wrong here. My HUD displays the service level. Whether I am offered an overhaul does not depend on the service level in a deterministic way. Sometimes I am offered an overhaul already at a level I wasn't of...

Re: Random element in parcel rep, bonuses, and maintenance

The reputation decay system does obviously not take into account how long it has been since the last positive delivery event(s). It never happened to me yet that my cargo reputation dropped two full steps though. It would mean losing the reputation at all, if the ship doesn't have the neccessary car...

Re: [WIP] N-Shields

Anonymissimus, NPC Equipment Damage does happen to be in my WIP folder, although it's not exactly simple and has yet to reach the testing stage. Watch this space. Aha, so it is really so that the equipment of NPC ships cannot be damaged by default as of now ? Fuel injectors are obviously the most i...

Re: [WIP] N-Shields

For the record, I wholeheartedly approve of your 'Equal Rights for NPCs' campaign! I want the assassins' fuel injectors to get damaged when I hit them with shields down then. I may get beaten here though. Sometimes they go down as if their injectors were damaged, or they perhaps eject because their...

Re: The Current state of Space games in general

It looks like the thread has turned into "the state of Oolite"... Sorry, pagroove! Also, a space game in general does absolutely not need to be a "you are sitting in your ship and are flying within space" - game, despite this being the only space games people around here seem to...

Re: EU referendum

I'd say you must be trolling, if you didn't seem to be a respected forum member. OTOH, sabotaging the euro by insisting on keeping the pound should have been the point where the Europeans threw you out. There is a large number of EU members not participating in the Euro, some of them by referendum, ...

Re: EU referendum

London has a lot of European centrals of international companies, you know. All of these would move away, taking the jobs and economical power with them. They are already doing it just because of the possible Brexit. I guess Brexit would lead to Scotland leaving the UK, which may influence some vote...

Re: Adder start: No kidding it's hard!

Other than myself, only the police is flying the military version. Yes, but the Aquatics OXP creates Shark and Barracuda pirates and assassins. These are even much more zippy-zappy you keep missing me injecting away and I'm out of range than the usual Ferdie and Asp II assassins. You can sometimes w...

Re: Adder start: No kidding it's hard!

Combat MFD displays the current target's weapon type if you have been hit once by it at least. A beam laser sure can appear like a military one, if flown by a precise pilot, hitting you mercilessly with every shot (A human would always miss some shots, NPCs don't.). Military Manta Ray most of the ti...

Re: Adder start: No kidding it's hard!

Well, I basically never get damaged, because getting damaged could mean injectors damaged, which is almost synonym for dead. If shields are almost down, and I cannot regenerate them by continuously dodging heavily, I have to flee while I still can. A Q-bomb is also a good option in that situation, w...
