Re: [UPDATED RELEASE] - Escort Contracts OXP - 1.5.6 (07/05/
But in the Elite Wiki I can't even find the account creation page... From the OXP packaging and distribution thread: [*]Send a PM to maik , requesting a username and password for the Oolite Wiki. You will need this for uploading your finished OXZ to the wiki, and (if you wish) creating a wiki-page ...

Re: [UPDATED RELEASE] - Escort Contracts OXP - 1.5.6 (07/05/
I realized today that there is a version 1.6.3 not mentioned in the wiki and not included in the OXZ installer. :( So my version is based on 1.6.2, and I now have to find out what was fixed with 1.6.3. Luckily I didn't try to fix the map layout issue yet! Correct; 1.6.3 is a quick fix version phkb ...

Re: A Noob's *Very* Long Rant About Combat
I like 1.80... no noobie at combat and still get my Iron clad ass handed to me more often than you'd think. Makes the Oooniverse that much more unpredictable and addictive in my opinion. Aye, I rather liked 1.80 too - but 'twas deemed too tough. Yup.. 'twere good for us old hands.. but seemed too l...

Re: Introduce Yourself.
Well met, Commander. :) Yeah, I use to run with a Viper too at one time. Ended up primarily in an Imperial Courier working for His Majesty's Navy...and making a good credit or two on the internal slave routes within the territories of Duvallian space. Not very ethical, but...well, the Empire never ...

Re: Introduce Yourself.
Just wanted to drop a line and introduce myself between system hops. Used to play FE2 religiously about 15 years ago on the PC, and I'm very excited to venture out into the customisable world of Oolite. Religiously, eh? Oh Thargoids, who art in Witchspace, hallowed be thy five-megawatt pulse laser....

Re: A Noob's *Very* Long Rant About Combat
Late to the soiree, I see. All the good advice has already been parceled out and I'm left with, 'Always wear clean socks' and 'Bleach the intake manifolds on your Witchdrive frequently'. Remarkably enough, I had /exactly/ the opposite reaction to combat in Oolite-- my reflexes have slowed since the ...

Re: (Beta) Mining Contracts
Very clever idea-- I never had much interest in mining but it's nice to see it dusted off as a valid career option.

Re: Shut down ship to evade NPC's
I'd say it's an interesting idea but if a ship goes derelict in my sight, I'm still aware that that's a ship. This might only work well if the NPC's are otherwise distracted, or you're on the edge of their scanner, or there are a few asteroids in the area to blend in with. I like the idea but given ...

Re: Hitchhiking
Another useful OXP for hitching a lift on another ship's wormhole is Broadcast Comms-- you can actively ask if anyone's heading your way and ships have a chance (based on their role, the way phkb has it set up) to reply and offer to let you tag along.

Re: [WIP] Station Ads
If this were done, it would make sense for the most ad-incrusted stations to be in corporate systems, with democracies and confederacies not far behind. Communist systems might not even have ads at all. Apart from the great motivational posters in commies . :D Yes, exactly-- Commies have their own ...

Re: [WIP] Station Ads
Could I suggest that it might be a good idea to vary this from station to station - e.g. some stations don't have ads at all, others are festooned with the things on every flat surface, with the usual thing being one or two ads at most. And it would be good if the placement stayed the same at each ...

Re: [WIP] Station Ads
Visually very nice, Spara-- very reminiscent of the docking bay ads from Frontier, and the interior ad is even in about the same spot (which makes sense, as it's the logical place to put it). The ads continually changing is much more dynamic than the YAH billboards, too. Nice idea!

Thank you for completely validating and utterly supporting my point regarding why such things would be more risky in an unsafe world or a more chaotic star-system. *whistles*cbr wrote:Yep, we are living in a safe galaxy on a safe world with no pirates and offender traders whatsoever

Re: Realistic damage
I've tried CombatMFD, but during a battle, I find I do worse when tempted to peek at the MFD instead of just keeping my eyes on the crosshairs! Simplify, simplify, simplify!Norby wrote:There are more Custom HUD dials filled by CombatMFD, for examplecombatSpeed
