Re: Total noob question
Does a save edit need a shift-restart to the spinning Cobra, like most edits? Mine didn't, when I tried it out. Yep, you can be a virgin Jameson with 400 extra credits! Interesting ... I wonder what's better to have for the first run: missiles or a pulse laser? Or the money? Probably the money, and...

Re: 4 types of worlds
Its late and I'm tired, but I wanted this out before I forgot about it. I know this prolly isnt going to be received all that positively, cos it would be a huge game-changer (literally), but I also think it would make it a lot more interesting. So instead of having 2 (industrial/agricultural) in di...

Re: alien craft salvaging
Yes, that sounds like a Scorpax. My guess is that he was 'entertaining' the other ships when you arrived and he decided that you looked like more fun - they like a good tussle, do Scorpaxes. They are quite tough, mind, being more or less the equivalent of a tricked-out Cobra III in terms of speed a...

Re: alien craft salvaging
Hmmm, all very strange. This is certainly not expected behaviour so something else might be having some influence, but I have no idea what. Which Aliens were involved? I'm assuming the aggressive ones were the Scorpax - the red/yellow/brown coloured ones with forward facing wings - is that right. T...

Re: alien craft salvaging
what were they? That depends on what OXPs you have  It's a pretty safe bet that it wasn't one of the Aliens though, unless another OXP is somehow messing with it. None have escape capsules so they cannot become derelict, and they do not appear in groups. i have the aliens oxp belonging to the...

Re: alien craft salvaging
that question was answered. the alien craft was in quitiri. i left it and proceeded to isinor. when i came back to quitiri there were hostile alien craft waiting for me. they were on super injectors and moved very fast and killed me. what were they? they were not thargoids.

Re: Maybe a hint on the problem with stalled docking queues?
I am not sure. It was in Laenin system (G1), around a A-stromine Penal station (GalCop owned, near Witchpoint Beacon). GalCop reported considerate Pirate activity upon entering the system. I believe the pirates were from different groups as they rather coincidentally entered station space from diff...

Re: Oolite 1.80 crashing
[quote="Diziet Sma"]Please do consider doing the testing.. OXPs should not be able to crash Oolite..
oxps do crash Oolite, they seem to overload my graphics card.

This is sounding better and better!

i replaced the docking computer music with eumir deodato's 1975 version of also sprach zarathustra and docking seems to proceed faster.

Re: Docking Computer
disembodied and meister cody's docking styles are meant for the sophisto mussos, not for us nondescript traders. :D It takes a bit of practice, is all. The scanner is a very useful bit of kit in locating the direct point between a buoy and its station without having to make visual checks, and you c...

Re: Docking Computer
ils is a steal for 50 credits, and makes me feel like a fool for saving up for the docking computer. If time is money then you can buy time for your credits with [wiki]ILS[/wiki] and approach the dock using Injectors, except in the last stage until you have not experience. Docking Computer cost mor...
