not sure if this is a black hole but it seems to work in a simmilar way.

How does andromeda strain count as an alien invasion?
It was a virus/ biological disease we brought back to earth on a scoop mission.
It was also a better book first, although it was the best adaption to film of ANY of his books...

Arthur dents village is "invaded" or visited by the alien Ford Prefect.
Then the Vogons turn up and things get hectic... BUT before they turn up ford has ben on earth for quite a few years.
