I love those textures, really nice for those without shader support. Good work
The Retro HUD looks great too, but I had to change one thing to make it work. I had to rename "Base.png" to "base.png" - it's not the same on some systems.

I think this is a nice idea. One thing I liked about Frontier was the small ship you started with, so a Cobra Mark III would be something to work for. In Oolite I don't feel the need to buy a new ship, because the Cobra is a great all-rounder. An option to start with a smaller ship would be an inter...

Re: How about adding a menu - rather than keystrokes?
While it wouldn't be as fast as a single key press - would it be possible to implement (at some point post-MNSR) a single key stroke to bring up a menu. In this menu could then be stored additional functionality from OXPs that require/desire it and a simple scroll up/down + select methodology imple...

You're more than welcome to write a config file for yourself that uses only 'F'-keys and numerical keys - but as I think was clearly stated the issues are not with Oolite but with the libraries and I think rewriting these is a lot to ask of the devs! I didn't ask to rewrite any libraries. I ...

After playing for a few days I have some suggestions for Oolite: 1. Darker planets. I know the planets are procedurally generated, but it should be possible to reduce the darkness and/or saturation of the colors a little bit. I got the impression that all of the Planets are very bright. There are lo...

Re: Beginner Questions (Keyboard control and OXPs)
Thanks for your replies. I think I'll try some of these OXPs. ^ (the key under Escape) should do it for you. Strangely it doesn't. But I edited the keyconfig.plist and changed it to an unused letter, and now it works. I experimented a bit with this file to see if I could find out why it doesn't work...

Beginner Questions (Keyboard control and OXPs)
Hello everyone, I've been playing Oolit for a few days now and really like it. I never played Elite (maybe too young), but I played Frontier a lot. Though I liked Frontier, Oolite is way more fun. :D But now I've got two simple questions: 1. The messages disappear very quickly and I haven't found a ...

The ~/GNUStep folder can't be renamed/moved - this is a shared directory for all GNUStep applications which you use, not just Oolite. This is true indeed, I should have mentioned that. I didn't think of it, because for me this not a problem. I don't use any GNUstep applications except for Oolite. A...

Here's a workaround for the moment. I have written a small bash script: #!/bin/bash mv .oolite-saves oolite-saves mv .GNUstep GNUstep oolite mv oolite-saves .oolite-saves mv GNUstep .GNUstep The script unhides the directories, starts oolite and hides them again when the game quits. Just put this scr...
