I guessed the flasher thing would be like the lights on the docking beacon. I think I will keep away from them for now, I am a total noob to oolite. @idolknight: imho that looks much nicer, although you might want to add an uncoloured (grey) version as well as that looks nicely industrial. I was going to keep a plain ship just for the peeps who dont want to use the paintjob option! :lol: I will keep tweeking with the idea with the Adder for now...

Nice looking ships there. My only slight concern would be the blue one might be difficult to see in-flight against a black space background. But that could either be deliberate, or overcome by using a flasher or few... Nice idea, What i am thinking of doing....Maybe make a number of different colou...

Cheers Cpt. H! I have tried to keep the metal plates on the ship as close to the reference picture from the BBC Elite manual. Tho, there is abit of creative licence there in places. The mega block paint job is pretty much inspired from the default skins that come with the Oolite download, Just sweet...

Hi, I have managed to export a model (Adder) and get it back into Oolite with a new skin @ 512*512. Any tips on using a higher res? 1024*1024? You can use the utilites to convert the .dat files complete with textures. Dat2ObjTex is the one I'd use. At the command line, type Dat2ObjTex shipname .dat. That will give you the corresponding .obj file, which you can import onto wings3D. The .png file used for the texture needs to be on the same...
