BTW, glxgears reports over 900 FPS. Erm, that's a little on the low side if not full screen. Low frame rate on busy screen with intel 945 card.

I have the same problem, frame rate of 4 when launching, because I have the planet in view. Hitting arrrows keys a lot, I can turn around and the frame rate goes up to over 10.
