Re: The mote in my eye
Thanks Gimi, but anything to do with ATI is rarely so simple From the log... 13:11:23.712 [rendering.opengl.shader.support]: Shaders will not be used (OpenGL extension GL_ARB_shading_language_100 is not available). From the Wikki... This design included ATI's first programmable pixel shader architec...

Re: Oolite Multiplayer? Please read
How about something that is multiplayer but doesn't break the model? Like where a single ship has a crew that work together as a team to perform the various tasks that in Oolite are juggled by the commander... any mileage in that?

The mote in my eye
Chaps,
The dust motes that get longer as I go faster... can they be altered by OXP?

Re: [RELEASE] Famous Planets 2.5.OXP (update for new users)
This is absolutely mind blowing, phew! For the first time in a decade or so I crave a more powerful machine just so that I can play this game in all it's glory. See what you've done? Thanks.

Re: Update routine rolls Oolite back
Thanks SandJ! I'm a noob at Linux and appreciate the help. I loaded it about a month or so ago because I went to download a firewall for windoze weighing in at 330mb. What a firewall that must be! So I voted with my feet.
What a game this is!

Re: Black monks in the pink?
Hi, thanks for bearing with me. I seemed to have two versions installed and it was getting the addons from home/usr/.oolite rather than from within the Gnustep folder - and I found the logs! yaay! :D . Now when I load the shader version the monastery is properly clad. Yay! FYI: When I use the non sh...

Re: Black monks in the pink?
Umm, no! I can't find it... lol... where is it supposed to be? In the meantime I'm wondering if it has anything to do with my method of install. I got v1.75 thru Ubuntu's repository. Then I removed that and loaded 1.76 from TCL using a bit of gibberish I gleaned from someone else. I wonder pa...

Re: Black monks in the pink?
Hmm, no joy... I was originally running the non-shady version and now I'm running the shady version. It looks like the monastery and gunship models are completely naked. I removed all OXP's except the shady black monks and re-started Oolite with shift key down - but Griff's scuffed Cobra mkIII is st...

Re: Black monks in the pink?
Ah, yes, I can see that the Black Monks look a lot more threatening than they do on this rig. I'll re-down the OXP and retry - thanks guys. Sorry for the lack of specs - I'm running Oolite 1.76 under Ubuntu 11.10 on a 2.66 intel driven Dell I8200 with 512mb RAM and a Radeon 9000 mobility 64mb using ...

Black monks in the pink?
Hi, my stupid question for today is - why are the Black Monk's ships and stations a putrid shade of pink? I mean, each to their own I'm sure! I'm guessing that on my laughably antiquated rig the textures aren't displayed but it's good to be in the know.

I'd like to say thanks for the phenomenal work. It really makes the game that much more believable.

What ho!
I'd like to say Hi and thank you for creating the Ooniverse. I've had so much fun flying around and trying to make a profit - it's just like back in the day except it looks far more impressive. It's the coolest thing I've seen/done for years
