Cobra MK III General Plans

Hi, its been a while since I posted, Jannah Berihn (aka Jannah Reich in Second Life) and I wish to point out that high-rez images of the Cobra MK III do exist and that I am declaring them public domain as long as I am credited with their illustration in any usage. They can be found at: http://jonblu...

Thank you.

Appreciate the comment and the map, cheers. Got lots of work to do both here and in Second Life where I go by the name of Jannah Reich - and I soon plan to start work on an Elite themed nightclub. But only time will tell in that instance.

Its nice to be back!

Berihn Shipping ... Well, We're Back

I was not quite sure how to re-introduce myself to Oolite and the Elite universe in general, but this BBS seemed like a good place to start. Having been away traveling the world for several years, and realizing that work and family and a lot of other stuff had stopped me from finishing the Longhaul ...

Elite Starship Blueprints

I noticed that somebody mentioned my name ( Jannah Berihn ) in relation to the Jonathan Bluestone name, and that I had produced a series of blueprints of the original Elite ships. Well, the good news is that they are still available ... but it might be a week or two before a few of them are finished...

Well, since we're doing this, Commanderess Jannah Berihn of Longhaul Outpost (LHO) prefers the following: Name: RabidviXen AI Attitude: Prefers agressive defensive posture and will always open fire on opening ships before speeding past them and then running full burn for a distance to provide suffic...

Regards Stuart McConnachie - wow! I know that he was smart (and why oh why won't he update pcBBC to run under Windows XP) but that is utterly amazing. As for the Open GL version of Frontier: Elite 2, I've downloaded it and tried it, but two problems arose. One: the game did not seem quite finished, ...

Yes, I frequent these boards - well, I try too but my bandwidth is extremely limited and I do have a whole StatGov to run as well. Nobody ever said that being a SysOp was easy! I managed to reload my PC with Windows 98se to run pcBBC and classic Acornsoft Elite (for the Master 128) and Frontier: Eli...

Help with Project

I'm back - and I'm sorry for the wait. I'm putting together a new Longhaul Outpost (LHO) site and part of the site will be a emulated Cobra MK III interface, bridge and console system. However, one problem has presented itself ... I cannot get my original BBC Elite to work with my pcBBC emulator und...

Microscoop Concept

It does indeed. In my younger days at university, when I wasn't behind the stick of a Cobra Mk III (on a BBC Microcomputer 32K in the uni lab) running ahead of a group of pirates intent on making me the catch of the day I used to design practical space craft systems for a number of groups (and I sho...

Wel-el, the average deflector array consists of a pulse-chambered manotox field generator coupled to a tralaulax compensator which is in turn hooked up to a compendeux ionization distrupter to produce an inverse field harmonic which is subsequency transmitted by isodentrix field coils mounted at nod...

"Solar panels? Thing of the past!" -- (common joke on Reidquat among shifty used ship dealers when speaking with new pilots green out of the academy and looking for their first ride). No, not solar panels. The original fuel scoop has nothing whatever to do with solar energy - at least not ...

MicroScoop

I have always felt that if a ship is moving through space at a reasonable rate of speed (even at sub-light velocities) it would be moving through minute particles of gaseous deposits in open space. What if we introduced a piece of equipment that we could bolt onto the ship which could act like a fue...

TGHC wrote: As far as Rabidvixens's playing dead tactics are concerned, she reminds me more of a blackwidow I'm looking forward to seeing Oolite multiplayer and do you gentlemen want to know why? While we're at it, why don't we employ the bloater drive too? This works by bloating up the molecules of aship until it pushes through witchspace to the destination and then snaps back the aft end of the craft so that it snaps back towards the nose. Ask, Bill - the Galactic Hero. He would happily ex...

Externally Mounted Fuel Tanks?

Good idea. It would be as simple as allocating a "tank" for the fuel and storing it in the hold with a pipe to the appropriate connections. Alternatively, you might want to consider externally mounted fuel tanks, which in a battle situation might be targetted by an enemy, although to be ho...
