Hyperspace tunnel time

When you jump its seems to be the same time elapses. Is there any way of making the hyperspace tunnel last longer as a function of the jump distance. Ie a 1 ly jump is seven times quicker than a 7 ly jump?

It would be nice to have the option of a turret type control. ship stays still and the cursor moves when on the sides or rear, Know its probably impossible...but I can dream...

How about a force field like in start trek. A very thin entity covering the door that would disappear when permission granted. saves an annimation?

What would be more useful, and kick me if this already exists and I've missed it - is a way that the ship can match speed, but not direction with another ship. Useful when escorting?

I like it as it is. But it would be nice that if stuck a queue the pilot pointed you at the station so you have something to watch whilst you wait.

Depends if you mean oolite or elite in general. first became elite sometime in june 1986 I think!

I'd always assumed that the escape pod was part of the "cockpit" given the time taken from pressing ESC to ejecting. If the escape pod is actually the cockpit, this will give even more room?

Now I find that i cannot get into witch-space whatever I do. Thinking on - I cannot remember ending up in witch space for a long time. Is there some forgotten option to stop this happening?

Update - works straight away if I use the keys, but not with the joystick?

Am I missing something here. Start mission says fugitive bearing 000 (I take it this means straight ahead). I take it this is going to be the shiip in the story. Nothing about as far as i can tell no fugitive on scanner?
