Hi,

I was thinking of getting a military shield but have never seen a tech 14 planet, I am in Galactic 2.

My current rating is 2301, I was expecting a mission by now, I was brought up on Elite on a BBC B back in the early 80's

Best wishes,
Jim

Hi jimb – there are some excellent galaxy guides on the Oolite wiki. There are three TL14 worlds in Galaxy 2, and one TL15 planet.

TL14: Onatbeza, Laribebi, Recexela

TL15: Tezaeded

Hi Jim,

check out [wiki]Oolite Missions[/wiki] to get an overview of the prerequisites for the native missions (i.e. that come with stock Oolite) and also see which other missions from OXPs are out there.

Cheers,

Thanks!

that is certainly enough to eb getting on with.

It seems I should have had several missions by now, not sure what I have done wrong.

No worries, I'm off to get a mil shield.

Best,

Jim

Just to check: how's your legal status? I think you might need to be Clean to get offered the first built-in mission. It doesn't say so on the wiki, but ... I might be remembering it wrong, anyway.

How dare you sir!

I am as clean as the day I first wore my cadet anti-scari pants.

But thanks for treating me like a "normal" person!

Best wishes,
Jim

You should have been offered to hunt the Constrictor by now, if you stayed in G1. Which (if any) have you been offered?

I think you can start the CH in galaxy two as well.

According to the wiki you can, but I don't know if it is refering to the continuation of the mission in G2

Hi jimb… open your save-file in a text editor (preferably not Notepad, Wordpad will do)... in Windows it can be found here: ~\Oolite\oolite.app\oolite-saves.
Find the <key>mission_variables</key> section and look for this line: <key>mission_conhunt</key>
What does the next line after that say?

None, since getting into Oolite.

I gave up a while ago because of regular random crashes, no one was very helpfull, just a lot of geeks,... I GAVE UP WRITING ASSEM:ER WHEN WE STOPPED USING 8085 and 6502. I do play this "game" to practise my computer science knowledge.

Anyway, I am trying again and enjoying it but still fed up with the crashes.

I nearly got my Mil Shields a while ago but the game crashes after 5 hyperjumps so I am cooling off

Late now, try again tomorrow.

Cheers, and thanks all

It may also help for us to know which version of Oolite you're running and which OS you're using.

My advice would be to try to isolate the oxp or oxp's that is/are causing it/them and remove. Your log should be the first place to look for errors. It worked for me. I used to get crash to desktop regularly but after a bit of pruning I don't get any. Also a good thing to check is if you have the latest versions of each oxp, that also helped me a great deal.
