I actually had to learn morse code by flash light, and I was quite good at it. Probably a bit rusty now. Cool tool though

Now, back in my days, the hardship we suffered, you wouldn't believe it!
Anyway, one of these things:

Morse code in radio has the advantage of being better than voice for long range communications. Since it's just the carrier wave being keyed on and off, it can be understood clearly at distances where the fading signal strength would make understanding a voice difficult or impossible.

And hey! Maybe the Thargoids don't know it!

It took the aliens in Independence Day a little while to work it out...

Ah the 10 inch signalling lantern. Damn I remember that very well! Although I was a "Sparker" and didn't have to use it.

I didn't have to use it that much, but as the OOW I had to be able to read it. (Had to learn how to use it during training though)
