With all the activate-able equipment (via N and Shift-N), some consistent sorting method probably should be used to make cycling through all of them more quickly.
I've already gotten a few OXPs that use activation equipment and noticed they're not in alphabetical order.
Going forwards, what sort of changes could be done (or are expected to be added to the mythical next stable release) to that to make access to ever-increasing equipment lists faster?
New activation method in v1.75 causing minor problems?

Well, there is already Shift+Ctrl+N, which traverses the list of primable equipment backwards. Not exactly what you are asking for, but nevertheless, it can help find a piece of equipment faster than having to go through everything with Shift+N.

Even Shift+Ctrl+N will help me.
In my testing, I'm using more OXPs with activation equipment than I would in "regular playing".
(Galaxy Info, LinkG7, LongRangeScanner, and similar...)
Seems like the order I buy the items is the order Shift+N goes.
Incidentally, I remapped this function to the A key. My N and M are speed up and slow down, so I could control ship speed/yaw with 1 hand easily.
B=missiles, Shift+B=Energy Bomb, Space=fire laser -- all conveniently near each other.
