OXP LIST

Why is there no column in the OXP list to tell you which operating system the OXP is compatible with?
Does it make a difference?
Can I download a OXP for Mac or Linux and use it on my PC? (I know this seems far-fetched, but I suppose it is possible).

Thanks!

Most OXPs are zipped and thus you can use them on all operating systems.

Oolite is multi-platform, and so are the OXPs, save-games, and everything else.

If they're written well and debugged fully anyway.

We occasionally get platform-specific problems like incorrect use of cases in filenames etc (Windows is case-blind, Linux isn't) but aside from that they all should work fairly much across the board. And that example is really a bug in the OXP which should be corrected when found anyway.

Sometimes the zip process adds files that are hidden on the original platform but become visible on other platforms. If you find such files, just ignore them.
