found this the other day, thought it might be worth other people looking at it as a possible a way of browsing ship based oxp's before you "buy"
http://www.javaview.de/
wiki with 3d elements, nice black background, it could all look a bit Russia, a bit pro. First bite is with the eye as they say.
Seriously though an interesting little app.
I hear that HTML5 does this as standard.

...and they even gave us a mid-tech level coriolis station with which to demonstrate.
Nice idea.

I was thinking exactly the same.

Hey, I'm deadly serious, well maybe not deadly...... More gently serious with a light dusting of frivolous. Anyway...
4 cool things struck me about this;
1)
http://www.javaview.de/doc/demo/textures.html (texture)
2)
http://www.javaview.de/molecule/index.html (Spinny. Thats a technical term by the way for left click move the mouse and release to watch it spin (black background too always good))
3) will be compatible with html5 apparently.
4) Works independently of flash, in a language that I actually stand a snowballs chance in hell of learning.
I might try and hack a ship into this to test the theory.

Yeah, I couldn't remember what the pentagon sided stations were called!
