unsolvable puzzle? [Spoiler Warning!]

Post by Jorge van den Poem »

I ask myself what did I do wrong??? I am in Galaxy 4 travelling to Orreenan Always nice to have a fuel leak and what happens the planets sun is going to nova! I am asked to report to the main station which I do, then I get the choice of helping those people out of there missery, and when I do say to help them I am lauched out of the dock without fuel and what happens the sun goas nova and of game. the only way out of it is to NOT help those people and when I go to the next planet after not helped them I get a Message that I am a coward and my behavior will be noted  Can anywhone tell me how to avoid all this??? I did not solve this puzzle yet

You will need to find a way to get out of that system after picking up the refugees. Now, how could you hyperspace out if you do not have fuel...? Solve this and you will earn the gratitude of the people ;-)

There's more than one way to skin a feline.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Look at the equipment you have and think which one of these will take me somewhere else!
Find out about the early influences of Fatleaf here. Also his OXP's!

I can think of five off the top of my head - not all available in the vanilla game, though.
(Mind you, I've yet to encounter this particular conundrum in this *lite version...)

In that case it's five the way King Arthur counts.

Possible, I solved the puzzle with Oolite 1.65. I'll try for fun if that method still works with current Oolite. I never realised it might not..

OK I am confused and I am no where near doing the Nova mission but as far as I know the only 3 ways to leave a system are.

1. Jump out like normal if you have enough fuel.
2. Follow someone else through thier wormhole.
3. Do a galactic jump (although probably not worth doing that for the Nova mission).

But if you have no fuel, due to a leak, and you can't sunskim (if it's about to go Nova) and you don't have a galactic hyperdrive and you don't see anyone else leaving the system, then surely you are fu#@ed ??

That would be the case, yes – however it's very very unlikely (although maybe not impossible?) that all those conditions would be true during the nova mission ...
