Saw one of these at the Convention I was at in the US last week. Very nice - a light transmitting fluid in the umbilical - amazingly bright at the lens end because all the hard work is done in the main unit.

Ooo ok so it's using fibre optics to transmit the projected image down a tube to the lens assembly whilst keeping all the "hot stuff" rack mounted up to 30 metres away?

I bet that costs a pretty penny. Still very useful for home cinemas, presentations, etc etc

Depending on specifications between 20,000 and 35,000 Euros. Next to nothing, really.

Seems the cable alone will set you back a hefty 650€ per meter(!). Starting from 20 meters it'll be more expensive than the rest of the hardware (which still isn't particularly cheap).

It's not fibre optics (that's what I said to the guy when I saw it) - it's a special viscous liquid that doesn't alter the colour of the light and still has 85% transmission at max of 30m from the light source. He wouldn't tell me what - but I guess that's the expensive/clever stuff.
