Nice to be appreciated.

I received an unsolicited email today from David in Seattle.
People just don't get appreciation they deserve, so I make a point of thanking folk for things that they have made and have released them to the world at large to use.

Having said that, Thanks for making the .oxp expansions for Oolite! I'm having a great time with them and on a 5 year old XP PC with no shader capabilities (darn, but oh well...) your expansions work wonderfully and help to make my experience of the Ooniverse enjoyable!

Thanks, again and... Cheers,

David
On a cold and frosty morning, it really cheered me up that someone had taken the trouble to express their appreciation, and I like to think it reflects well not just on me but the whole community. Like most of us I have many OXPs installed and so to spread this around a bit, Thanks Guys!

Are you kidding Killer Wolf... all that fan mail you get remarking on your distinguished baldness and your small member.... you're a legend!

Okay, maybe not... :?

but thanks for all the stuff you do for Oolite! :)

If you really mean that, then cheer up. I like your ships VERY much. In fact I'm saving up for one of those Dominatrix or Vampires but they are expensive you know and my In game character doesn't have that money (yet).

I also like your Sothis station, which is fantastic but shouldn't you try to let it sometimes replace the main station also (like my Pagroovestations.oxp), just a thought.

yay :-)

i wasn't fishing for compliments, BTW, it's just i have other sites, and it's quite off-putting when you put hours of work in, get hundreds of hits on your counter but maybe 1 person a year puts a comment on your message board :-( ....and it's worse when someone rips off your work w/ a cut/paste montage, posts in on another board and THEY immediately get half a dozen compliment messages >:-(

thanks for the comments tho, glad people are enjoying my stuff :-)
and don't worry, there's plenty more to come ;-)

Smivs... ditto on your OXPs.

I am back to playing Oolite after a few months... 1.74.2, last version I played was 1.73.(something).

After experimenting w/ OXPs over the past few days, I have settled on YOUR ship retextures & accessories OXPs. VERY nice! Thanks!

Thanks!
I don't know what to say really...I'm flattered, and it's nice to know many of you are enjoying them as well.
I guess this is a good time to mention that v3 of the Shipset is almost ready for release, and is even better than v2 in all sorts of ways. Hopefully just a few (3-4?) weeks now real-life permitting, once I've ironed out a couple of minor issues and done a bit of testing/checking.

I guess I have to say that I am suprised; I think the latest version is perfect (?). I'll keep an eye out... I'm curious as to what V3 will be like, then.

The main feature will be on-board models as the current one relies on the inbuilt models that come with the game. These are subject to change from time to time, so I've taken the 'original' models from v1.65 and incorporated them into the Shipset. This will ensure they always stay the same and nothing will go wrong in the future if the 'core' models change.
I am also up-dating all the emission maps (lighting effects), adding a few more variants (such as seperate 'skins' for the varieties of FerDeLance - Hunter/Player, Pirate and Executive transport), and there will be new 'skins' for some models, notably the Python, Asp, and Anaconda.
You can see the new Anaconda here on the Development thread.
