Make Frontier ships & features into OXP

Which ships from Frontier were made into OXPs?
I know of Falcon, Kestrel, Imperial Courier, Imperial Trader. Any others?

The Eagle (original 3 plus an Oolite specific 4th variant) - I think somebody was also doing one of those huge long range ships that the eagle flies under in the opening sequence.

Right. I have the Eagles. And Merlin was from Frontier too.

Any chance of getting others? Maybe not the 'meh' ones (I seem to get the idea there were quite a few of them), but the rest?

ADCK put some FFE ships into his Bulk Haulers OXP.

Thanks.

A few next questions:

is Planetfall oxp similar to the landing in Frontier minus the visuals, of course?

is there a remake of Frontier? If yes, how good is it? I mean, is it buggy (as buggy as the original) or not? I don't really care about the graphics.

The Planetfall OXP is a very clever method of making planets into "dockable objects", but no, I wouldn't say it was similar to landing in Frontier.

I think there may be remakes of Frontier out there: a quick search on Google brings up numerous hits, but whether they lead to finished versions, buggy or not, I don't know. If it's anything like the original, I personally wouldn't call it "good", since – in my opinion, anyway – although Frontier was technically very impressive (despite the bugs), it was actually quite lousy as a game in that it wasn't much fun to play ...

Nah, I'm simply interested in some things (Oolite among them) and have giant 2h of free time a day in uni with nothing else to do (unless I have to read something for tomorrow, which is rarely).
[end of offtop]

So maybe (I know I'd hate the Newtonian physics) somebody would make a Frontier oxp that'd have landing, crew hiring, multiple planets, orbits etc. that were present in Frontier but not in Elite.
I realize making new star charts is out, so no Sol, Achenar, Eta Cassiopeia, Delta Hydri etc systems. But I think practically everything else (save the **** physics) is doable.

Zireael: You are looking for Pioneer. It is still in alpha stage though, so bugs are expected.

Thx, but no thanks. I avoid alphas like a plague.

What about my idea of an oxp for Oolite?

Well, the official Frontier had probably more bugs than this alpha. Just saying.

As for the possibility of a Frontier OXP for Oolite, chances are that Pioneer will have already released half a dozen stable versions before that.

Why? Orbits are already here in orbits oxp. So is landing on planets - planetfall oxp (and we don't need those graphics from Frontier, really). So I think is making multiple planets (after all, we have moons in System Redux and System Demux).

I think it's the crews that's missing. Or maybe something more I don't know about.

Indeed and it's getting better by the minute :)
Still I love Oolite for its gameplay. But Pioneer is great for planet exploring

Yeah, but Pioneer/Frontier has Newtonian physics. I could stomach the rest, but not alpha stage and not those.

Crews have been discussed a few times, for example here, here and here
