If I read that right, Torus v2.01 rotates at a slower, more stately speed, which suits it well... thanks Svengali.
Oh, it was Murgh who has already used a slower rotation.-)

But using station_roll in planetinfo.plist is systemwide and affects other rotating stations as well. Eric's reminder was to use the new shipdata key, surprisingly with the same keyname, that is specific for the entity.

Mm I got a message saying that the Tori is incompatible with 1.74. But I'm using 1.74. And everything is installed correctly into the Addons folder. Any clues?

It is correct that it is incompatible with 1.74. In the current version it uses the station_roll key. That only works correct with 1.74.2. And that is also the minimum version of tori.oxp. You better upgrade your Oolite version to the current release. 1.74 and 1.74.1 still contain some minor bugs.

Ok thank you Eric. I will upgrade. I was using the test release 1.74

I think you’re missing one from G2:

# 39. Tezaeded (151,16), {66,126,193,221,236,240} within 7.0 LY. Radius 6039 km.
Corporate State, Rich Ind. Pop. 6.4 B, Prod. 56320 MCr. HC: 6, TL: 15, Human Colonials.
The planet Tezaeded is famous for its exotic fish cutlet but beset by evil spotted cats.

Oh those evil spotted cats!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

I took the information from the OXP's planetinfo.plist, and looked up the planet names and info from the Wiki.

Here it is again, with the planetinfo.plist information, slightly reformatted for clarity:

Code: Select all

   Torus Station Locations

Torus A = single ring, Torus B = double ring

Galaxy 1
Torus A: Tianve (TL 14 Rich IND DEM), Xexedi (TL 14 Rich IND CON)
Torus B: Onrira (TL 14 Rich IND CRP), Inera (TL 14 Rich IND CRP), Ceesxe (TL 15 Rich IND CRP)

Galaxy 2
Torus A: Onatbeza (TL 14 Rich IND CRP), Laribebi (TL 14 Avg IND CRP), Recexela (TL 14 Rich IND CRP)

Galaxy 3
Torus A: Birera (TL 14 Rich IND DEM), Leorendi (TL 14 Rich IND CON), Teedus (TL 14 Rich IND CON),
Cedile (TL 14 Rich IND DEM)
Torus B: Lezaer (TL 14 Rich IND CRP), Orzaedve (TL 14 Rich IND CRP), Tiera (TL 14 Avg IND CRP)

Galaxy 4
Torus A: Gebiisso (TL 14 Rich IND DEM), Dicebe (TL 14 Rich IND DEM)

Galaxy 5
Torus A: Zaeredre (TL 14 Rich IND DEM), Cecear (TL 14 Rich IND CON)
Torus B: Tetiri (TL 14 Rich IND CRP), Biceenon (TL 14 Rich IND CRP), Gesolaon (TL 14 Rich IND CRP),
Xevera (TL 15 Rich IND CRP)

Galaxy 6
Torus A: Oresmaa (TL 14 Rich IND DEM), Arente (TL 14 Rich IND CON), Radiesar (TL 14 Rich IND DEM)
Torus B: Bearrabe (TL 14 Rich IND CRP), Enqura (TL 14 Rich IND CRP), Diesanen (TL 15 Rich IND CRP)

Cerianon (TL 14 Rich IND DEM), Bionbiin (TL 14 Rich IND DEM), Zarausxe (TL 14 Rich IND DEM)
Torus B: Articeso (TL 14 Avg IND CRP), Quandixe (TL 15 Rich IND CRP), Maraus (TL 15 Rich IND CRP)

Galaxy 8
Torus B: Esusale (TL 14 Rich IND CRP)

From planetinfo.plist:

Where I MIGHT have made a mistake, would probably be an Econ Type (Rich/Avg, IND/AGR, but I didn't see any AGR and there probably wouldn't be), or a government type.

Agree that Tezaeded is TL 15, but the OXP apparantly didn't put a Torus Station there. Unfortunately I started over w/ a new savegame this morning, and my ship isn't developed enough for traveling.

Ah… then the oxp is missing Tezaeded… maybe it’s because of the evil spotted cats.
I’ll add it to my copy of the oxp, I think.

They do a terrible thing to perfectly good coffee beans.

Yeah... and people drink the coffee... and it's very expensive.

I’m back at Esusale (G8 TL14) again… for some reason, there is no Torus station, only a Dodo. The planetinfo.plist says there should be, at planet #251, which is the correct number… any ideas, anyone? Is anyone nearby Esusale, with Tori2.01.oxp installed? If so, please check it for me.

Yep, same on my machine. The system is overlapping with another one - this may be the explanation...

Edit: I've just added "7 143" for a test and the station appears now.

Yes, that works... but it adds a Torus station at Cecees as well.

Esusale and Cecees share exactly the same co-ords, I think.
Does anyone know if any of the other 'zero-distance' double systems also share exactly the same co-ords?
I know that Lezaer/Esmaonbe (G3) differ by one digit.

All zero distance systems share the same map coordinates.
90% of the associated problems were solved in 1.74, plus one more problem was solved in trunk a couple of months back.

Seems there might well be one last surviving bug!
I'll have a look at that oxp in trunk to see exactly what's happening: it might well be that the planetinfo/plist parser is still a bit too dumb for its own good... :(
Hey, free OXPs: farsun v1.05 & tty v0.5! :0)
