[Solved] Unable to interact with menus

Hi,
I m a French player of Oolite ... or rather I would like to become one!
The game works, I can pilot the ship, but when I'm in a menu I can't use the options available. That is, I can navigate the menu using the directional arrows, but I don't know how to activate an option.
It seems silly, but I can't save my game and I can't play! I tried all the keys on my keyboard and I went to see the file "keyconfig.plist" ... but nothing helped.
I guess the problem is that I use a azerty keyboard. What is the button you pressed to use an option?
Help me ... do not leave me alone in the galaxy. Thank you in advance.

Hi ben_capa, welcome to the boards! Friendliest forum this side of Riedquat, so I've been told ...
Right now, at work, I'm not sure how you select an option ... it's something so automatic I'm not consciously aware of what I'm doing! I think you just need to hit the return key when the option you want is highlighted. It can't hurt, anyway!

What version of Oolite are you running? We have had a similar report before and the issue was fixed about a year ago. Thread is
here.

Hi, and welcome.
It's the return key. Select the option you want and 'Return'.
I hope that will work...if not, come back and we'll look again.

I already tried the return key, it does not work.
How do I know which version I use?

Hi ben_capa and welcome.
You should get Oolite version 1.74.2… that should help.
Oolite
en français (it's an oxp) might be of interest to you.
It might be interesting to have some feedback on the French localisation.

Yeah... get 1.74.2 up and running first. I'm not sure how well the French oxp works with 1.74.2.

Ok, I uninstalled my old version, but I don't know how to install the package .tgz of the version 1.47.2.
When I type in the terminal: $ chmod ux oolite-1.74.2-test.x86.package, it tells me command not found!
What manipulation should I do?

You should be able to install the autopackage if you follow the instructions in the text file included in the .tgz you downloaded. Note that the $ characters in the instructions represent the operating system prompt and are not meant to be typed.
I can see already an error in what you have entered.
You have:
chmod ux oolite-1.74.2-test.x86.package
It should be:
chmod u+x oolite-1.74.2-test.x86.package

I HAVE SUCCEEDED!!!
I install with the command "bash" in the terminal! (Thank you anyway another_commander).
Now the game works perfectly, I can act in the menus!
When I'll have more time I'll try to put it into French.
Thank you all, I don't expect that the forum is so active!
Salut

The Ardennes… long time since I was there, but I remember the beautiful scenery and forests well.

A special game requires a special forum… this is it. Be warned though… this forum can be as addictive as the 'great game' itself.
Enjoy...
