Quick Save Working Okay?

Post by Darkbee »

I've been away from Oolite for quite some time but recently took to getting back into it again. I had a question regarding it's development and latest enhancements.

I'm pretty sure I remember from an earlier version of Giles' that the "Quick Save" feature was not very reliable. Were/are people aware of this issue, and has it been addressed? Up to now I've been doing a full save for fear of losing my save game file.

Hi Darkbee,
As far as I know it's fine - I use it all the time and I've never had a problem. :)

What the man says! :)

Darkbee, you might also want to enable the autosave feature. I use it all the time, and it's been working ok for me, remembering to save my game for me every time I leave the main station! :)

Hi Rxke, I was wondering if some of the "old timers" were still around.

I think I still have your PM about changes needed to my reference sheet! I guess that's moot now, I see someone else stepped in and took the ref sheet to the next level.

I think that the Oolite reference sheet may need up-dating… many of the ship dimensions are incorrect.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Are you talking about the one currently bundled with Oolite by KZ999? I had nothing to do with that, he/she just borrowed a few of my ideas. :D (which is fine btw, I'm flattered)

I don't know about the ship data, I took my data from the mesh files, just doing a quick comparison it looks like some of the values in the new reference sheet don't match with mine so I don't know where KZ999 got the data from.

Yeah... KZ's bundled pdf, that's the one. He hasn't posted for a long time.
