Dear OXP makers: how about a reasonably 'uber' missile?

Post by UK_Eliter »

How about a missile that combines the trident missile (a missile - from the Aquatics OXP - that splits into three) with either (1) the fragmentation missile (which is from the Missiles and Bombs OXP) or (2) a nuke (from the nukes OXP)? I'd like something that, while not being a quirium weapon, I can use to obliterate, or at least heavily damage, a group of ships.

PS: I realise that 'reasonably uber' may be a contradiction in terms!
PPS: Some information on the two sneaky missiles from Vector OXP would be welcome. Is there any difference between the 'Barkas Barrier Missile' and the 'Rocketer' missile?

:)

I might add that the Automatic Chaff System OXP seems to react to the standard missile equivalent ('HM3') provided by the (old) OXP MeagilsMissiles as if it were hardened (i.e. it releases chaff rather than firing the ECM. (Perhaps this should go in the 'Expansion Pack' forum.)

You can always try a KillIt(tm) missile, courtesy of Commander McLane... they are quite pricey, but extremely effective, I hear. :)

Hack the military missile to your liking.

Thanks Switeck - that's a good idea. I've already hacked the Meaglis missiles so that the chaff dispenser OXP works on them.

PS: Kaks, the KillIt weapons are more than reasonably uber!

Alternatively you can hack the "chaff dispenser". At least when you use the chaff from missile and bombs. That oxp contains a case-list of known missiles and the effectiveness against those missiles. You can easy add a new missile to that list when you like. Against unknown missiles the chaff has an effectiveness of 75%, but you could set it to 100% chance for your specific missile.
