Benulobiweed Classics - prerelease blurb!

Found this scribbled on a piece of paper on my desk...
Who could forget such classics like the Pallas, the Merlin, the other one and the 'Navy' ships from Benulobiweed Inc?

And who could forget those mysterious Orbs spotted all over the galaxies many, many moons ago?

Ok, quite a few people....

Spawned from the fervent imagination of Charlie, and given a bit of spit & polish by this humble ex-Benulobiweed rep, they'll be available soon-ish, compatible with the upcoming 1.74 release of Oolite.

Thank you all for your continued patience, as we follow the ancient tradition of vaporising err... losing err... constantly upgrading our testing department while testing our products to meet ever more stringent standards we're contractually obliged to follow constantly improving upon.
Clearly the ramblings of some demented fool. Make of them what you will! :)

Yeah, Charlies imagination is sometimes.. pretty cool.-)

So here we go: Pallas2.0

It's a stripped down version (316->24 Flashers) and should run 'slightly' faster...

Code: Select all

[ai.load.failed.unknownAI]: Can't switch AI for <ShipEntity 0xa1527978>{"Pallas"} to "route1TraderAI.plist" - could not load file.
Line 5 of the shipdata.plist file in the Pallas2.0.oxp reads

Code: Select all

		ai_type = "route1TraderAI.plist";
It should be "route1trader" to work on case-sensitive systems.

He, yes. It's really that fast.

I think that Charlie has choosen this Uber-speed, because he had to run away pretty often while testflying this baby .-)
And he clearly states that the energy reserve is pretty low - so jumping in a bunch of pirates can be... interesting.

Specially Charlies using of z-fighting as effect was a technical interesting aspect and makes the Pallas somewhat uniquely.

A lot of the old heroes are not seen amongst us these days. Charlie is one of them, and what happened with the famous Captain H.? (derailment alert)

Svengali, thanks for giving the Pallas a good cleanup, I did get somewhat distracted by RL again...

I really ought to stop that: bad RL, baad! :P

When we've talked about it a while ago, I thought it would be a good idea to reduce your todo-list a little bit .-)
Glad to be of service, Kaks.
