Oolite Bulletins

We're all currently residing in the friendliest forum this side of Riedquat- and that is fine and dandy. All newbies need somewhere to start out safe, being handled with kid gloves. But it's too peaceful here. The slight shade of pink is to blame, not to mention the Sanrio Hello Kitty store in the Riedquat shopping mall. The bar only serves tea or- shock horror!- coffee!! And the biggest intoxicant is dark chocolate! The nastiest cuss words are "Gee whiz" or "Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle".

But I am sure that there is a forum where the darker side of humanity lives, the underworld of the Oolite galaxy. A forum where space pirates, galactic gangsters and other ne'er do wells gather, drinking hard liquour, gambling and plotting dastardly deeds and planning heinous crimes. A forum where bare knuckled brawling is the norm. A forum where anything can be procured for the right sum- or services. A forum where backstabbing and treachery is the norm.

Does anyone know of such a forum?

Ours, at times.

That's why we are generally so happy to keep it friendly.

You are blessed being a newcomer. Those of us who have been around a little longer vividly remember two different discussions which... let's just say, blew a bit out of proportion.

I've also been told that for instance the Elite BBS over at alioth.net has everything a "normal" forum needs, including the resident grammar nazi. If this suits your need, feel free to pay them a visit.

Or, if you're really on the masochistic side of things, you could try any place in the intertubes and start with either a stupid noob question or an outrageous statement. Politically orientated blogs should be a good first choice (for instance, go to any conservative US-blog and make a post about how good a job Obama is doing, or in favour of repealing DADT, or ridiculing the teabaggers). Then lean back and watch. But don't say you weren't warned.

I mean, this side or Riedquat sucks, and all the hip places are on the other side of Riedquat.

We all know the looks we get when in the station bars - after some drinks - we let it slip where we come from.

? There is no other side of Riedquat - it being, from a co-ordinate point of view, the most "westerly" system on chart one... (equally I think)

i set up "the most apathetic board this side of Riedquat", but i closed it down cos no one visited.

If you can find a certain programmer and ask him about petty lawsuits, then grasshopper, you will have found the meanest board.

Have you considered visiting 4chan? The experience would be enlightening and informative, on appreciating the joys of calm and rational conversation.

An even better suggestion than mine.

Given that Riedquat is a notorious anarchy system and, as has been pointed out, there is no significant other side - this forum's distinction as being the friendliest board this side of such a hell-hole would appear to a rather weak endorsement!
