Greets and all...

I usually don't report these things, especially in a first post, but I haven't seen any notification for maintenance or otherwise. The wiki has been offline for awhile...

Cheers.

Has anyone sent him a PM?

As no-one has replied to this, I have sent him a PM myself.

Thanks JazHaz... Glad to have found this "remake" and I heve been enjoying it much as I did the original I played on the C-64.

I've installed a few OXPs, currently Famous Planets v2 and Neolites ships along with a couple of others. It's remarkable how much Oolite "feels" like the original Elite... even after all these years.

And it's just as addictive as the original!

I'm looking forward to scripting some missions, one of the reasons I was accessing the wiki for information, and maybe try my hand at some ship design later on. (I'm a big fan of Wings3D).

This community appears to be pretty friendly so I'll be hanging around, hopefully swapping stories and code as time goes on.

Cheers.

Got a response from my earlier PM:

The database seemed to have crashed and wouldn't restart without rebooting, we'll see how long it stays up... hopefully not a harbinger of yet another dead server...

I'm an ex-IT admin (20 years) and former ISP (5 years) owner.

I used mySQL extensively and know a few tricks here and there for checking integrity and doing maintenance both for the database and the hardware. I kept a server mySQL running for over 10 years at one point... perhaps I can be of assistance.

If so please let me know.

Cheers.

Especially annoying as I want to look at the map for Galaxy 5, as I need to find a TL14/15 planet to buy back my Naval Energy Unit, following my recent purchase of my Boa Class Cruiser.

TL15: Xevera (CS)
TL14: Gesolaon (CS), Zaeredre (Dem), Tetiri (CS), Biceenon (CS)

There are times when keeping local copies of various wiki pages pays off ;)
