I met up with one of my old friends from my MOD days (in fact he was my placement student when I lead my first development team) today and he was showing off his latest "toy" - A Nokia N900 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_N900)

He's got various apps running on it and uses it as a portable method of hacking his work's network to show up flaws in their IT security (this is his job btw, he used to do this for other companies until he got promoted into the high reaches of management) so he does this now just as a purely intellectual challenge to "keep his oar in".

Not normally a fan of Nokia's I have to say I was impressed by this one when he walked me round it.

Anybody else got one?

Yes. That is to say, 'had'. It died while I was in Australia and I just discovered that the Nokia store in Regent street has closed. I'm now trying to figure out how to get a warranty repair effected.

Otherwise, brilliant little device! Wrote an app on it in the first week of owning it, while commuting on the Tube.

Now here's a thing:

Do you think someone could write an app to apply magnetic fields to order? It would be a really bad thing to do. >>><<< No it wouldn't.
