Map problem

I have the 8 maps and they are great, speacially with bounty hunting.

My problem is that at the end of a session they will not close, always comes up "Prog not responding" even using Ctrl Alt Delete to get them to close takes a few tries.

I use Adobe reader 9.3 Even tried going back to version 7, same problem.
It is only the maps that will not close. Every other .pdf file I use works no problem.

Wondering if anyone else has this problem and if there is a fix for it?

Adobe Acrobat is a resource hog.. I prefer the free Foxit Reader, which gives me no problems and can do pretty much anything Adobe's reader can do.. using a fraction of the resources. You could try it and see if it helps.

Using evince to display pdf, and having used adobe pdf reader version 5 (I think) until january, I never had such a problem.

evince is slow in rendering pdf, but I have the impression it is reliable.

A "workaround" might be to use the png maps from the wiki instead.

If you want exactly those "vector-maps", one of us (with a good screen resolution) could put online screenshots of them, thus them being in say .jpg, you would no longer have to use any pdf reader to "read" them.

I like the look of Foxit as a reader. Have you got a recommended free pdf creator i.e. to convert .doc to .pdf?

I recommend the "Save as PDF" option which comes as standard with every OS X "Print" dialog.

I use the "Export as PDF" function in Open Office Writer to make PDF files. :D

You should be able to open the .doc file with writer, then go File>Export as PDF to convert it to PDF.
